Morrison's was the most egregious, to me. I know it's easy to sit here and say this and that as a spectator but there was no reason for him not to elevate that puck there. Your natural reaction and instinct in tight like that is always to elevate, let alone against Smith as that's the book on him. He certainly wasn't alone but that one stands out to me the most. I'll be thinking of that one all summer. Such a great play that should've ended with "Chelsea Dagger" and completely different outlook on the game at the time. That puck has to go in there. Has to.

I think we need to commit to a October-December mentality of "let the kids play" and see who is able to be "not a total liability" to the team.

I sure wish we'd gotten better, but what can ya do.

And I'll perhaps be the only Hawks fan to admit that our team has its share of the cheap shot artists too. 'Course, none of them are even close to Torres' level though.

I hate this excuse. They are paid to do this. If they can't elevate a puck in that position than they shouldn't be on a scoring line. And every year when the playoffs roll around I get to watch 2-3 games a night and every year I'm reminded just how bad we are at elevating the puck compared to the rest of the league. Yea, every team occasionally shoots a puck low that should have been elevated, but its a running theme with the hawks and has been for at least the past two seasons. The inability/unwillingness of our dmen to get shots on net is another thing that sticks out.

i agree with this, you let all the UFAs go, let Olsen play, Saad, Shaw, Beach, Pirri, Morin, at some point you have to have someone actually develop because filling all your holes in Free Agency, is eventually going to end up with you having over paid for a lot of players.
