Was decertification a bluff? The owners have brass balls.

The $44-50 million payroll teams care about competitive balance lol...but yeah, it's hard to believe the NHL is being so stubborn on a $15 million difference between the cap and floor as opposed to a $20 million difference. Especially since there's only so much those other teams can spend with limited revenue sharing.

No DOI

No one said anything at the press conference. Bettman and Fehr didn't say much.

Meeting at 10 this morning

I don't think a deal gets done today. But for the first time in a long time, I finally believe it's a matter of when rather than if a deal will be done.

I don't think it was a bluff, but more of a plan B for the players. If the talks went sour then they would have that in their back pocket.

It ended alright; no; yes, from Bettman telling the media the main issues that remain; yes.

Fehr probably told the players that DOI threat would get the NHL to move towards the players. What happened? The NHL moved towards the players.

I think that as they've got an early start today they'll cover a lot of ground and be only apart on one or two issues.

Meet tomorrow around 5pm. Have a 3/4 hour meeting and it'll be done. In my opinion.

Assuming you're a Bruins fan, one of the Stanley Cup banners hanging in Boston Garden is from a 48 game season. Does Boston have an asterisk next to their cup wins? No, and nor should they.

Bettman & Fehr spoke briefly with the media.... Fehr appeared to be bit grumpy and didn't really say anything significant (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Bettman seemed a bit more positive and stated mediators were involved.

Meeting today at 10AM.... Fehr was told meeting would begin at 8AM...

Everything Fehr does or says is calculated, everything. Whatever you want to say about his business philosophies, he doesn't get rattled or show his hand publicly - ever. Not like the angry little man did a few weeks ago

I think he did it to discourage questions to him, not because of the way the process was going. That's just my $0.02.
