Was hoping to see him fight once more but with the amount of injuries he's endured recently and at his age it's not a surprise.
Yeah. And he's got the ability to go and get a job as an engineer. Not like he needs to cling on to the UFC gig for as long as possible. Not worth the risk of further injuring himself and having a ****** life after fighting.
Love Joe Rogan's paraphrase/quote during the UFC 111 walkout ... "Talk to guys who train with him and they all say the same thing ... 'That dude hits so hard, you don't even know, you can't even BELIEVE how hard he hits until he hits you.' "
One of my favorite heavyweights of all time. Absolute destroyer in the cage, and by all accounts a really nice guy outside of it. When I imagine the movie character out of central casting who is the world cage fighting champion, I see Shane Carwin. I really wish he was a bit younger and his career would have more closely matched the rise of the UFC/Pride; can't imagine playing college football helped his neck and back. His fights with Gonzaga, Mir and Lesnar were scary, scary shows ... awesome fighter, I'll miss him.
Crazy Carwin stat. Prior to his loss vs JDS, the amount of cage time Carwin had in his 13 pro fights was less than a 5 round championship fight at just 21:29. His first 12 fights averaged a mere 81 seconds.
Shocked neither of these two have been posted with how much this board hates the Diaz bros:
Nate has been suspended for using a derogatory, 3 letter word starting with f about Bryan Caraway apparently. Nate will be fined, suspended, or cut (or two of the three) tomorrow when Dana is back in Vegas.
And Nick is starting his own promotion called War MMA and is eyeing a summer show in Stockton. I'd go to that....IF IT WASN'T IN ****ING STOCKTON.

Cutting Nate for using a gay slur would be harsh. I get that the UFC wants to be mainstream and like other sports leagues but teams in those leagues wouldn't even cut/waive a pretty good player for calling someone a ***. Fine him and make him apologize. UFC is extra careful when it comes to this stuff because of all the damage Dana's mouth has done in the past.
I don't even know what to say about Nick starting his own MMA promotion.

Part of me things Nate wouldn't mind getting cut because that way he could fight for Nick's promotion.
