Yeah right, Alien Resurrection the video game was better than that piece of ****. The only good things about that movie were Winona Ryder, Dan Hayada, and the Visual FX. It's not even the premise that I mind, everything was just so...dumb.
Jeunet is an incredible actor and Joss Whedon wrote the script. The xenos in A:R Never looked better in the whole series. It was the 4th movie yet the 1st one to truly feature the Aliens and how they looked.
And Ron Perlman was the second best thing after Ripleys clone. The clone room scene is one of the best scenes in the whole quadrilogy, obviously after the Chestburster in Alien and the descent into the Queens hive/final battle between Ripley and the Queen in Aliens.
I also liked Resurrection because it had a great cast of supporting characters. Michael Wincott is incredible and my only complaint about A:R is that he died way too soon. Ron Perlman is now truly a big time super star, Winona Ryder in the late 90s was also a super star, Leland Orser and Raymond Cruz are also favorites of mine in the small time roles they pop up in and we also had Brad ****ing Dourif in the movie! I didn't even know it was him until the part where he says "We have a serious problem in the mess hall" in the Chuckie Voice.
Add in the fact that A:R also had the best kill in the whole series (a ****ing Chestburster coming out of a guys chest and then through a bad guys forehead was amazing.)
And I don't get the hate about the newborn. I was about 8 or 9 when I saw Resurrection in theaters with my parents and I was scared ****less when I saw it for the first time, especially when it kills the queen, chomps down on Brad Dourifs head and then squishes Raymond Cruz' characters head into a pulp. And then Ripley using her corrosive blood to open up a hole to suck the newborn through was ****ing insane, the screams and gore coming from it were amazing, Pitof definitely knows his visuals. The Newborn actually had male and female sex organs on it that were removed by studio demand. It was something different, edgy and I liked it. I mean how many times can you see a regular xeno in these movies? There are maybe 2 slight variations and the Queen, atleast the newborn is something totally different and extremely menacing.
All in all , Resurrection was a 10000000000x better ending to the Alien saga then Alien 3. Ripley finally makes it to Earth, she wasnt a scared whiner the whole movie and getting to see her on screen one more time makes it so worth it. Sigourney Weaver was a co exec producer so this is how she wanted to see the series finish. If she didn't want to change how the Alien trilogy ended she would have vetoed the idea instantly.
Like I said, the Visual FX were great, there was good acting, but those two alone don't make a good movie. They made Ripley too much of a badass, it was a joke; Ripping tongues out of aliens for souvenirs? ****ing kidding me? Also, why was the ending to A3 a bad way to end everything? She sacrifices herself, by jumping into molten lead no less, in order to wipe out the species.
Then again, AR was like Citizen Kane compared to AVP.
Read my post again, The Xenos existed during the time period of Prometheus, no one knows who created them and where they came from
Plus Xenos were originally gonna appear in the movie
I asked a question. The Xeno in the movie was a bi-product of the black goo, after David gave it to him and they had sex. When you refer to Xeno I assume you are referring to the Alien. I could be wrong.
This biological weapon they were going to use. It somehow creates Xenos with the whole pregnancy thing in addition to turning humans to zombies.
