Sucks that Fedor never fought in the UFC. Even now it still would have been interesting. Out of curiosity, who does everyone think takes a Fedor-Anderson fight (currently).

I just don't feel as excited by the new blood like Jon Jones, Ben Henderson and JDS. Yeah they're incredible fighters, but when I first started watching MMA it seemed like the top guys were larger than life. I don't get that same feeling anymore. I miss the days when MMA was gritty and unpolished. Jon Jones has the personality of a mainstream football player, whereas guys like Tito wore "Dana is my *****" t-shirts to a weigh-in.
I could not agree more. And I think the ratings and PPV numbers support this idea. You hit the nail on the head. Guys like Chuck, Tito, etc., they were larger than life. They were characters. You couldn't wait to see their next fight. Just aren't a whole lot of those guys around anymore. It's way too vanilla. And even though a lot of it is scripted, that's why I like a guy like Sonnen. Hell even Bisping who I'm not necessarily a fan of, I appreciate the fact that at least he's not bland. That's why Lesnar (pre-surgery especially) was such a draw. He was larger than life, and he said whatever he wanted. That's what draws interest. I don't know exactly how the UFC goes about remedying this, but they're gonna need to figure something out. I don't see the current product ever reaching the level they achieved when Brock was champion, and that's unfortunate.
Excuse me, but I've probably been watching MMA longer then you have. I have every UFC and Pride dvd and have been an MMA fan before the UFC was around....
The Rock used to be one of my favs. I loved watching him fight, but time and time again he's lost because he would hang back. Yes I know he's a counter puncher, but that really doesn't matter when you get caught with a big shot before you can counter.

I've watched most of Rizzo's UFC KO's live(At home lol).
Oh no worries, I actually thought afterwards that my post came off as douchey and wished I had worded it differently. I didn't mean to sound snobby by asking if you watched prior to 2005 but was actually serious because there are a lot of new fans who don't realize how good Rizzo used to be. And yes, I agree that Rizzo often left a lot to be desired by not being aggressive enough.
Wow, I didn't realize this was taking place. I thought Dream folded. The MMA fights are decent but I'm really looking forward to the HW Kickboxing GP. Not as many big names as the K-1 GP's but still getting Schilt, Ghita, Remy, Zimmerman, Aerts, and Saki is pretty good.

Someone needs to tell Doug Marshall that, well, he's Doug Marshall. Guy stands over his opponent for like a minute and then goes screaming all over the ring like he's the baddest dude walking the planet.
Of the fight cards this weekend, I'm probably most intrigued by the Invicta fights. I'm not a huge fan of women fighting, but they seem to have the most entertaining matchups this weekend.

An excellent event. Well worth 10 bucks. Some very good fights and fantastic submissions.

Just saw this today...
That wise quite a display. Marshall is a primo *********. Yelling give me money like that with the guy that signs the checks standing within earshot, that was weird and trash.
