More expensive future: Derek Forbort vs. Jarred Tinordi

Since Beaulieu was a poor comparison of future expected cost, perhaps Tinordi will close the gap.

Both players are groomed by their respective teams to play shutdown D. Who will have the more expensive future of the two?

I doubt either will be costly.

Tinordi has better offensive instinct than you think. If Josh Gorges already had a 20 point season...

The problem with either contributing on the offense is that D-men 6'4" and bigger take longer to develop their offensive game than someone Beaulieu's size would. Perhaps both Forbort and Tinordi will end up being 20-point guys but that remains to be seen.

And Forbort contributed to the offense in college. So Forbort might, after 2-3 seasons in the NHL, contribute on the PP. Tinordi, too, in fact.
