I saw this on Facebook yesterday - "Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But yell it at them in German because life is also confusing and terrifying"
I just hope this isn't used as an excuse to save the coaching staff's jobs. They have been outsmarted far too many times, enough is enough.
I think it's a safe bet that if the Canucks get bounced in the first round, the coaching staff will be under immense scrutiny. Still the Canucks can pull this out though.
I'm seriously debating if it's worth my time and money to continue following the NHL. It just gets less and less enjoyable. Keith's actions and discipline were ridiculous, and Weber's $2500 fine for what he did may be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me. Add to this the ridiculous inconsistency in officiating game to game, regular season to playoffs and season to season.
This league is so pathetic. A shame because hockey is by far the most exciting sport out of the majors. I guess I will play more and watch less.

Exactly.
It's unfortunate that Keith didn't get more games (should've lost the whole first round too, that was as intentional as it got). But would Keith being suspended more games change anything? No. We're playing the Kings.
Flyers are pounding a HEALTHY Penguins without their generational talent in the back-end (Pronger) and playing their enigma goaltender. If losing one star player is all it takes for this team to unravel, then we sure as hell have lots of work to do in the off-season.
Elliott Friedman seems to think that it's not out of the question that Daniel could join the team later in the series.
Long break between games 3 and 4, so yes, it's entirely possible. I think the team just decided to remove the distraction and say Daniel is out for the series.

Yeah, hopefully. IIRC Daniel had a headache after he practiced on Monday so maybe after a week off he will be ready for Tuesday's game.
Elliotte Friedman HNIC - Daniel is not travelling with the team and will not play Sunday in LA but he has not been ruled out of Game 4 on Wednesday - Game 5 is back in Vancouver 8 days from now (a week this Sunday).
When Daniel wasn't ready for game 1 this was the logical outcome, even if it really hampers the Canucks changes -- not to mention my playoff pool.
At this point I think it's fine. The team looks terrible anyway, so I'd almost be inclined to say just shut Daniel down for the rest of the post-season. Duncan Keith's 5 game suspension really eases my pain here.

When I read that I heard in Bertuzzi's voice: "there won't be a game 5"
The report of Daniel being out for the series - even if possibly correct - is premature and has not been confirmed by the organization.
Continued discussion of Daniel can occur in the Canuck injury thread, which - given that no other Canucks are currently hurt (knock on wood), is essentially the Daniel Sedin thread.
