Palat hasn't had a very good season, but I would still keep him over Killorn..TJ...and especially Boyle.

I have always considered production as points, but obviously you can have a greater impact or lesser impact, for instance corsi and faceoff %. Arguing over the definition of it is pointless semantics, give others the benefit of the doubt.

You're sure to be 100% right on this. I'll happily eat crow about this whole thing but I just don't see it. This is OT anyway so bye to you too.

Faceoff % is irrelevant in terms of production.

Your argument about Namestnikov's sample size being too small in the playoffs, garnered through two deep runs, is as good as my prediction about him never being more than a depth player in the playoffs.
The year the Blackhawks beat the Lightning, their 2C, Brad Richards had 37 points.

The year the Blackhawks beat the Bruins, their 2C, Patrick Sharp had 20 points in 48 games, on pace for a little under 40 in an 82 game season

Last year, Conference finalist St. Louis Blues 2C, David Backes had 45 points

Other conference finalist Tyler Johnson had 38 points in 69 games.

I believe the last time the Kings won the Cup, was it Carter or Richards on 2C? Carter had 50 points and Richards had 41, either way they aren't putting up gaudy numbers.

Need me to poke holes in anything else?

Of the bolded, you mean the 2013 Patrick Sharp who had 20 points in 28 games? Sure Johnson had 38 points in 69 games which he followed up with 17 points in 17 games in the playoffs while Namestnikov had three points in 17 games (where he could've easily been the 2C because Stamkos missed the entire playoffs aside from that Game 7 against the Pens).

Wooooops. Read that as 48 not 28, irregardless, I have given you examples of 2C's with around 40 points.

Johnson has been consistently declining though (in terms of shot shares and ES scoring). They're gonna need to pay him and others, so if there is a greater need to clear cap, they should move him while he still has high perceived value from their playoff runs.

I get the center depth argument. But Filpulla may still be around another year. Not sure whether Namestnikov or Point can convert to center. And didn't they tell Drouin to play center in junior? So there are some options.

Basically if Stammer is healthy, they'd be OK. How many more freak injuries can he have?
