Yep, You'll be able to find it somewhere in Hudson I'm sure.

I mentioned brewing some recipes by the Dogfish Head guy earlier in the thread and this providence directed me to Casanova's in Hudson, which carries a bunch of their stuff.

Looks like they even have some available for growlers:

Just bought a 12-pack of one of my favorite beers:

Cracked one open, tasted a little off. Expired a month ago.

**** 'em. Gonna enjoy it anyways.

Dang, what liquor store did you go to that's selling expired beer? I'd complain.

What my friends and family refer to as "the meth head liquor store." Because everyone who works there looks, mumbles and scratches themselves like they're high on meth. I should probably drive a little further and pony up the extra cash next time.

A month after sell by date shouldn't matter,it is more likely it was improperly stored (got frozen, got to hot or moved in and out of refrigeration) most beer is good for a year when properly stored.

Some truth. The higher the alcohol content, the safer you tend to be. A Coors, etc. will oxidize like a motha *****. This particular store will keep their entire inventory stored warm in the back and throw 2 or 3 cases/12 packs into the fridge when there's room. So I wouldn't say they were properly stored. Not that big of a deal, regardless. Might end up drinking all but one, take them back and be like "I didn't notice this!"

Clown Shoes Galactica IPA

It's pretty good. Picked it up on a whim, I had heard others mention Clown Shoes before, but have never had any of their beer. It didn't knock my socks off, but a very solid IPA. Nice to switch it up every once in a while.

Every time I go to 99 Bottles the sales guy tries to sell me one of their Clown Shoes bombers. None of their flavors have ever bowled me over enough to pick one up, though.

I think I've posted this one before, but New Glarus Scream Double IPA is spectacular.

If you're across the border in Wisconsin and you're an IPA fan, keep an eye out for it. Highly recommended.

Butterscotch schnapps with green apple vodka, similarly bad idea.

Like dessert in a glass, tastes exactly like a caramel apple.

It's mildly rainy midnight, sitting on a cabin's terrace after the sauna. Tasting Napue (award winning Finnish rye gin) Tonic. This stuff is really ridiculously good!

Napue is delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of gin, but Napue really is great stuff.

Had Surly Ten tonight, very good.

Also had what I think is probably my favorite beer of all time, Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA. Such a good beer. Any time I see it on tap, it's an instant order.

A new brewery is opening up in St. Cloud - Urban Moose. It's really close to where I live, so I'm pretty excited for the grand opening. Hoping to become a regular.

Between this place, Beaver Island, Old Capital Tavern, and Third Street Brewhouse - The St. Cloud area's getting pretty popular for beer makers.

Now that my wife is pregnant (and, apparently unlike many expectant mothers who go to HCMC, she isn't drinking during pregnancy ), I've found I prefer beers with higher alcohol content so I get more bang for my buck, and I'm not drinking in front of her all night on the weekends. It might take me like 5 Guinnesses (or whatever) to start acting silly, but one New Holland Dragon's Milk, and I'm good to go

EDIT: Also in this vein, I've recently discovered Victory Brewing's "Golden Monkey". So far, it seems unique among beers to me, in that it's higher alcohol (I think 9% or so?) but doesn't have that alcoholy taste you start to get with beers in this range. In Dragon's Milk, for instance

Bent Paddle: Hop Forest, Double IPA from a good Duluth brewer.

Delicious, but I get drunk off two cans.
