Cody Hodgson
12 games, 5 goals, 7 assists, 12 points, 34 SOG
Zack Kassian
10 games, 5 goals, 1 assist, 6 points, 20 SOG
Basically Kassian had an unsustainable hot start and the huge overreactions started like it always does on this site. Did people really think Kassian would shoot 25% the rest of the year? Sometimes I just don't know.
That is why you see so many Canucks fans in this thread because they are insecure about the trade. I would be too if my team traded a potential 40 point winger for a potential 80 point center. Unfortunately you will probably have to deal with their trolling of Hodgson his entire career but I'd rather have to deal with the trolling of Hogdson than not have Hodgson at all.
As for the Hodgson vs. Turris comparison, well that is much closer. No one can know for sure how they will progress because they are both quite good and young. Should be a fun poll to revisit in a couple years.

Most fans aren't insecure about the trade, but thanks for generalizing the entire fanbase champ
I like Hodgson and hope that he becomes the 70 point player that he has shown the potential to achieve, this doesn't change now that he's not on the Canucks. The kid is brilliant in the offensive zone, but still has work to do on the defensive side (which I have no doubt will improve since he's still so young). If asked if I would reverse the Kassian/Hodgson trade, I wouldn't because Hodgson would never put up those stats due to a lack of opertuntity here. He would go back to being our third line centre and 2nd PP unit player once Kesler gets back. Kassian brings much needed physicality to our lineup and has the ability to go up and down the lineup (played on all of our lines so far) and complements the Sedins quite well.
To call Kassian a 40 point player while calling Hodgson a 70 point player is disengenuous imo because if we are taking the most optimistic projection of Hodgson, then we must with Kassian too. I think Hodgson will be the better player, but not if he was stuck behind two better centres for the next 3+ years, so Kassian is more valuable to us. I said too close to call in terms of Hodgson vs Turris be because I've only seen a few games of each. Oh and lol at taking a 10 game sample to determine the better player.
