I think Giroux will still be having 70 point seasons at 34, and I'm sure in that time we will draft some good forwards that can help him. I think we have enough time to win a cup with giroux as captain

The chances of landing a high end player outside of the top 10 appear to be much higher this year than in normal years (or say last year). I'm confident in the Flyers scouts to deliever even if they don't have the luxury of a top 10 pick.

Better check with Bobby Clarke first.

Well yeah sometimes you get a real diamond in the rough.

However I think this year will be much like 2013 where there's a lot of potential high end players being selected outside of the top 10 just because of the overall depth of the draft.

This sentiment is understandable. Our NHL defense is weak. But everyone needs to remember, with the exception of Ghost, these guys are all super young. Even Ghost only has 2 games of AHL experience. And really, for a high level prospect, he doesn't have that much experience. He came from Florida, Union doesn't play a rigorous schedule, etc. Yes, Hagg has played in the SHL. But he was the youngest defenseman in the league. This year in the AHL, he will be one of the youngest. Until recently, Morin was a pimply faced boy.

Let's all take a deep breath and look around the NHL past and present. Rushing defenseman to the show is usually not a great idea. The over ripening philosophy for defenseman has been proven to be the better method. Is Ghost better than MDZ right now? The answer is yes. Does that mean he should play over him? The answer is no. We need to relax a bit.

Well..all indications are that the Flyers will be a middle of the pack and cusp playoff team but could be worse. If you are going to suffer another year of mediocrity at best...this is the year to do it.

It's funny....it took Holmgren until two years ago to finally draft D men so we could develop them and not go the free agent route where we overpay with minimal chance of putting the team over the top and being a sustainable contender. As a result, he and Snider's impatience created a half a decade gap.... at the minimum ...as a result.....
