Yeah. Nash absolutely can spell intense. He just doesn't do it nearly as often as some people might like, and he often seems to reserve it for when he's wearing the Maple Leaf.

Toews-Nash against Russia was simply an amazing combo.

Babcock wanted Nash more than anyone on the team.

Babcock likes Nash, clearly, and I think Babcock is the kind of coach who could actually get Nash to play up to his immense ability more consistently and with more hustle and effort. I would be thrilled if the Rangers were to retain a little salary on Nash (say 1.3, making his cap hit 6.5M?) and move him to Detroit for some combination of assets out of: Nyquist, Sproul, Jurco, Jarnkrok. I don't think Nash is a good fit on the Rangers where he must be THE guy but would be great on a roster with the likes of Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Alfie. I also think Babcock is a much better coach for Nash than Vigneault is.

He wanted Nash over Crosby?

I can't say I am surprised Nash made Team Canada but I don't really think he should have.

So was Scott Niedermeyer. Should he make it too?

You are saying he isn't overhyped? Look at his career stats. Are they good? Yup. Are they 7.8 million good? Nope. Are they worthy of all the praise and hype he's gotten? Nope.

He's a 60-65 point winger that gets treated (and paid) like a 90 point winger.

Nash easily eclipses 90 points playing with a number of teams in the NHL, just not any of the low-scoring teams he's been burdened with. In fact, on the modestly scoring Rangers last year Nash was at 78 points pro rata 82 games.

People slobber all over Kunitz and Neal but Nash would blow those two overrated hacks out of the water if he got to play consistently with Crosby and Malkin.

Toews-Richards was more impressive.

Woah woah woah.

First of all pro rating a half season doesn't make him an 80 point winger. He has to actually do it in a full year.

Most everyone knows Kunitz is a product of Crosby. Anyone can put up points with Crosby. What's your point?

Rick Nash makes almost 8 mil per year. He is the guy. Not someone who needs to play with a superstar to be good. He's played with Jeff Carter, Gaborik, Richards, and Stepan. These aren't ahl players. Don't make excuses for him. He hasn't been burdened at all.

He isn't a 90 point player in any way, shape, or form. And now he seems to be giving no effort as well.

Pretty much the only player I would have issues with on the Canadian roster if I was Canadian. Would make an argument for St. Louis, Giroux and Neal over Nash.

Well, as a Penguin fan I would have to admit that Neal is a marginal call there, and it depends on who Babcock would otherwise put on Crosby's RW. St.Louis would have seemed golden there also.
