If Batch plays...maybe. Leftwich is a square peg in the round hole that is the Haley offense. His wind-up is too long and deliberate and his accuracy is too sporadic to work a dink-and-dunk offense in this league. The only way Leftwich is good is when he's throwing 20 yard patterns to slot guys...Brown being out of the line-up for likely another week and Wallace falling off a cliff doesn't exactly bode well for him either.

I have more faith in Batch being able to run this. Both guys are completely immobile and Batch is nearing his 58th birthday, but Batch is the smarter QB and he doesn't have a ****ed-up delivery. Batch can complete 4 yard passes all day long.

Adam Schefter is reporting is a sprained shoulder for Roethlisberger. severity is unknown at this point.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left Monday night's 16-13 overtime win against the Kansas City Chiefs with a right shoulder injury.

Sources told ESPN that Roethlisberger suffered a sprained shoulder.

Roethlisberger was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital to undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury to his throwing shoulder, with a diagnosis expected sometime Tuesday, sources told ESPN.

I forgot the Steelers even had Leftwich, I thought Batch was the backup.

What @Edwerderespn has reported: a source tells ESPN the Steelers fear the QB has suffered a pretty significant injury to throwing shoulder.

#Steelers are bracing for a "serious" injury to QB Ben Roethlisberger's shoulder, I'm told. The fear is that it's worse than a separation.

For whatever it's worth, too, the coaches in Pittsburgh haven't been told definitively that Roethlisberger is out Sunday.

Some good news? RT @MikeSilver:I'm told by very good source Big Ben's injury 'doesn't sound long term' though he's 'iffy' for sun. #Steelers

so it could be anything from a mild shoulder sprain to a torn labrum.
im not shocked at these conflicting reports. hopefully the MRI was a precautionary thing and its a mild shoulder sprain and hes out no more then a week or 2.

In an age when "news" includes made up information based on hearsay from a person who doesn't really have access to the situation, then yeah, we should never be surprised by conflicting reports.

RT @EdBouchette: #Steelers Ben Roethlisberger has a rare rib injury that could kill him by pressing against his aorta. Too big risk.

Albert Breer ‏@AlbertBreer
RT @EdBouchette: #Roethlisberger's rib is partially dislocated and of more concern than the shoulder. Don't look for him to play in awhile.

Yikes.

Wow if there is one team that can't afford an injury to their QB..its Pittsburgh. Tough break.

I am guessing we may be lucky to see Roethlisberger before the end of the year.
that sucks.

I'm not one to wish injury on anybody. That's not my style.

That said, while I am happy for Big Ben and his wife, he did make it pretty adamantly clear recently that he was not going to miss the birth of his child, even if it meant missing a game to do it, even if it meant missing one of the two Ravens game. And then the Kansas City game happened.

You know the saying "Careful what you wish for, because you just might get it"? Well... Big Ben will get to see the birth of his child at least.

did he dislocate the rib as well? as soon as I read the part describing the SC joint injury I thought thats the same injury he had.
the dislocated rib part takes 6 weeks to heal. We may see Roethlisberger for week 16 or 17 if we are lucky IMO

Amendola dislocated his Clavicle, not a rib.

Just as scary, though. If Amendola's collar bone would have bent the opposite way, he could have died.

For lack of better place to put this...

http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=8636387

Mr. Intensity himself Jim Harbaugh has an irregular heartbeat. I hope it isn't serious like they say but it is just the idea that he has this issue knowing his personality.

ok, saw a tweet from Stephania Bell of ESPN saying it was the same, but that was early.

Proof that it isn't good for your health to shout your ass of every Sunday...

Hopefully Coach Harbaugh will be OK and back on the sideline as soon as possible.

Not surprised

Once he didn't practice on Thursday everyone in Chicago knew he wasn't playing (+ given his history the Bears cant afford to rush him)
