Jenner's hit was straight on and about .5 seconds late... Everyone is acting like he shot somebody.

5 minute major MAYBE in North America. More likely just a fight and a 2 minute pp.

I saw the game live, was sitting on that corner where the Jenner/Pettersson hit happened. I was about the only one who actually saw it live, since most were following the puck. I thought it was a nice hit but a little late at first. I remember there being no call initially, only after they saw that Pettersson was injured.

There were no replays, either.

After watching the replay on YT, I must say that it totally warranted a 2-minute interference minor, but nothing more. It definitely wasn't charging, as I said already when the hit was made. It was a brutal call, and I don't like the fact that the result of the hit is affecting the penalty.

It's not the hitters' fault if an opposing player is injured on an otherwise clean hit.

Would people stop calling it a clean hit. A late hit is not a clean hit.

I've never understood this how can it be clean if it's penalised and rightly so?

Clean in this case means not a headshot or an elbow or from behind.

It was a late hit. Didn't like it. The swedish player was injured, and Jenner should/will be suspended.

The only part of the hit I don't like is it was a bit late, but nothing dirty about the contact itself. Give him a game for bad timing and be done with it.

Oh wait, this is the IIHF and a player got hurt? give him 37 games and remove his left hand.

Of course someone says, he should be more aware lol. Yeah let's blame the victim just as society does with everything now-a-days. The hit wasn't dirty per se but it was a dumb *** play and hit. Jenner didn't have to do it, and just like this team against Finland their heads are still up their *** so far. Gotta get their **** together before the games really count. He should be suspended by the way IMO.

Won't say Spott's a bad coach, but I'm surprised he didn't take advantage of the "evaluation time" aka free games to try out MacKinnon more or shake up the first line.

It's happening way too often in international hockey as well as in national leagues.
