Great, then I can just skip to and be done with it.
If there was any actual basis to suggest Fleury was a better goalie than Backstrom outside of "Fleury won a cup" I'd attempt to debate the topic. Unfortunately for you there is none. Backstrom has consistently put up superior numbers despite being on a vastly inferior team.

Riding the bench for 20 extra nights a year helps.
And the Pens' defense is anything but good.
Either way the difference isn't nearly good enough to make up for the gaping wide gap between Malkin and Parise.
no other team has anything better than 2 good players and one who's average or unproven
I think that's an exaggeration. Off the top of my head all of Nash, McDonagh, and Lundqvist are above average. I don't even think they're #2. I know people think Nash is overrated and I can't blame them, but he's definitely better than average (or unproven).
Anyway, before clicking the thread I thought of LA and looks like HF agrees with me.
Pittsburgh was my original thought, until I remembered that Fleury was the goalie. LA it is for me. You get a terrific No. 1 centre, a dominant defenseman and Jonathan Quick.

What about Detroit?
Howard is a top-10 goalie, Datsyuk is one of the best centers in the league, and Kronwall is a top 15-20 defenseman.

He'd definitely be on the 2nd line in:
Pittsburgh
If Crosby's healthy, he's on the third line.

Detroit
He'd be third line in Detroit if you keep both Datsyuk and Zetterberg at center, although Z probably moves back out to wing. Same deal with Kesler; his game is better suited to the wing anyway if Vancouver can get some decent centers to be able to push him out. Something around Kesler/Kassian for Richards/Carter seems like a great partnership; maybe mix an Edler deal in there.
Speaking of Richards, Backes is also behind Richards in LA.
