Meh, some little guys have made good careers in the NHL despite being small, Steve Sullivan, cammalleri, wellwood, st.louis, gionta, Marc savard.

To be fair, a guy like St. Louis was never expected to become what he is now, who was also an undrafted college FA. I'd say most of them weren't expected to have the careers that they've had so far.

I just have to say, well done. It's somewhat discouraging to post here because of how often a simple comment gets twisted to mean so much more than the original intent. People often have to put qualifiers in that really shouldn't be required because their meaning is clear. IMO, you made your original point and this one in particular very clear.

I think Ellis was alittle closer to laflure or keon then Spencer to St. Luis, Ron did play in the NHL, won Stanely Cups and on the 72 Canada Cup Squad, We will see if your comparisons pan out if Spencer ever makes the big club.
