Who wouldn't want to play on a team that has the best young forwards of the league...

My hope is that after this series Ryan Suter doesn't want anything to do with Detroit. Like any other player on our team...if they leave, I'd rather see them go East, because I hate the other West teams, and don't want to see a former star playing us 4 times per year. I DEFINITELY don't want to see them 6 times per year.

Also...Philly goes after Weber in a trade....that would leave us with a massive hole on defense. What would Philly be willing to offer, realistically?

Really it would depend on when the trade was likely to happen.

Holland has been saving for years to replace Lidstrom... They have more cap room than most and will make a BIG push for Suter... Not to mention, they also have enough $ to acquire an unrestricted free agent winger, say, Suters best bud Zach Parise? that will be a good selling point as well.

If anyone outbids Preds for Suter, what they'll get is a one of NHL's elite d-men.

I think it would either be one or the other. Pulling off both would be a huge coup in the cap era. There will be a bidding war over both players, which will likely mean overpayment...and make it much less likely that they end up on the same team.
