Typical.
Oiler fans don't want to trade him because he is 21 and basically still a prospect and his value has dropped. Most believe it will go back up, at least to some extent, which is a very good reason not to trade him.

Most others also think Bishop is not an upgrade on Dubnyk, and so don't want to give up anything for him. Most of the Oiler fans looking to pick up Bishop are those that don't really know anything about him and think he is available for peanuts. Those who actually know that he has value are happy just sticking with Dubnyk.

Most competitive teams have two compitant goalies.
A tandem of Dubnyk and Bishop would be decent (ignore last nights botched effort from Dubnyk)

Khabibulin is one vodka away from retirement.

Make it a 2nd and take Daugavins or Latendresse and you've got yourself a deal

Not unless he skates it out himself.

As for OP, no dice. Paajarvi is one of the only decent looking forwards out there right now. And dealing him for a backup goaltender would be.....well.......stupid.

I get a kick out of some Oiler fans, couple of months ago they would of traded Paajarvi for scraps and now he's turning into a pretty good player they want to keep him. I guess holding on to your top prospects can be beneficial.

Bishop could be a good goalie, but not with the Oilers, he's not a upgrade over Dubie, and the Oilers need Paajarvi's size and speed. Oilers pass, Ottawa would have to add more if this was to happen, which it will not.

So who has to add, you start out saying Ottawa has to add, then your saying Paajarvi is not worth Bishop. OCPenguin keep it up, your a never ending supply of humor.

More like why do you need another back up goalie?

No need for yet another bottom six forward. Bishop will be dealt at the draft I'm pretty sure

This made me laugh. Especially after the Preds broadcasters were trolling the Oilers in the first yesterday saying that their breakout consisted of flipping it into the neutral zone to a Preds player over and over and over again.

Still, Paajarvi's basically the only guy who consistently drives the play in the opposite direction among the bottom 6.

Dubnyk ***** the bed quite often, but he's the least of our worries right now. This team has some major holes that need to be fixed before we even think about addressing goaltending.

Unfortunate bounce, happens to a lot of goalies. Dubnyk is a starter he may never become an elite guy but he is an NHL quality starter, he is as good as Bishop if not better.
