Our 7th round pick has signed a deal this summer with one the biggest teams in Finland HIFK (my team too)

His new coach calls him a bull and that he's in awesome condition coming into the first summer tournament starting friday (I will be at the game) It seems his new coach will give him all the opportunities to win a spot on the teams top 2 lines. This will only be good for his development. He's only 20 and played in the FEL since 2009.

Pakarinen has been really good in the training matches so far. He was probably HIFK´s best player against JYP. He´s really fast and works extremely hard both in corners and in front of the net. His shot looked good, too. I´m really excited to see what he brings to the team. I think he has potential as a checking-line forward in North America.

FEL started last night and Iiro Pakarinen was really impressive registering 2 goals and 2 assists in a 7-3 win over nemesis Jokerit. His great effort during pre-season has promoted him the 1rst line on this team with Ville Peltonen! I really like how Iiro plays. He's a shoot first player very untypical for a finnish player. He parks in front of the net too. If he keeps this up the same tempo he's had during pre-season we could have a diamond in the ruff here

With the lock out anything but sure I'm gonna be keeping a close look on Iiro for us. My employer just bought us 2 season tickets to HIFK (Iiro team) so i'll be going to a lot games live
