dont be surprised to see him sign a one year extension.

I dunno. He is having a nice season this year, but he's far from being NHL ready.

I assume they would want him for the AHL, or just to have his rights. Even if they see an NHLer in 3 years they have no reason not to sign him.

Uh, actually Tyler Eckford has 7 games with New Jersey. Just thought I'd point that out. Very little experience, but better than none.

Left/Right handed doesn't mean much if they can play on their off side. Volchenkov is a lefty who played right. Gonchar too. Phillips, Cowen, and Methot are all mortal locks on the left side however. I think Lundin is a lefty who plays right side as well.

I haven't seen the rest play enough to be certain which side they prefer. Can someone confirm which sides Wiercioch/Boro/Claesson/Wikstrand play?

Wiercioch has been playing left I believe, but I'm not sure, just judging on his two assists.

Wiercioch prefers left, plays right on the PP
Boro prefers left - Phillips had to move to right when Boro came up.
Claesson is playing left in Bingo
Wikstrand played left in the WJC
