How do you pronounce: "*****" ?
We don't have that one.
When it's spelled that way, I'm not sure... but the first word is interchangeable with female dog and the second one describes cow manure. I'm actually sympathizing with Sens fans... what's the world coming to?
Maybe its a cultural thing or the challenges of communicating precisely in a second language, but having just read a transcript of the interview, he comes off pretty whiny if you ask me.
I get it, great player, tough injury, he's young, but guess what: it happens, people get hurt in hockey.
Watching the interview gives you a better indication. Just sayin'.
I don't think he cut him on purpose but he sure as **** lifted his skate off the ice for no reason and purposely kicked towards K. He's reckless and a hazard.

That's what i call a misunderstanding. I was referring to that we in Sweden don't have profanity censorship. So i don't know how to pronounce the "*'" word
Why is everyone having such a difficult time understanding the difference between intentionally playing dirty (which did happen) and intentionally cutting someones achilles tendon (which likely did not happen ) ?
Cooke knew what he was doing (playing dirty ) but he didnt mean to injure ( cut EK's tendon). That is exactly what EK said and nearly everyone here that isnt part of the sheeple 'Matt Cooke is innocent' brigade.
ITT Not enough people watching the video; too many people reading articles where the author is trying to spin something. I don't think he needed a big press conference though, seemed kinda silly.
why the **** does cooke get the benefit of the doubt on this? I don't understand it. If anything his track record indicates that his intentions were dubious at best.
I think when TSN shows a bunch of clips that show the same exact play done by plenty of players, it shows you that it was a freak accident, nothing more to it. The fact that people are so sore about it still just shows that in their head, it was on purpose.
I don't blame Gudbranson, it was an accident. Just like Cooke's.
Cooke is certainly capable of hurting players intentionally. Was the cut on Karlsson intentional? I don't know. The blathering idiots on the sportscast, people love referring to, don't know.
But I wouldn't rule it out, not if Cooke is involved.
As to the people on here saying Karlsson should man up and forgive Cooke; get a ****ing clue! His intent to hurt Karlsson and numerous stars/players in the past is reason enough to hate his ****ing guts.
What bothers me in this whole story is one of the brightest young stars in recent years got a serious injury that might seriously hamper his career by a player who has no business being allowed to play in the league.

Who are you to say Cooke has no business in the league? Do you speak for the players union or NHL ownership? Karlsson will heal. Accidents and injuries happen. People really need to let this go.

well, eugene melnyk speaks for NHL ownership and said Cooke has no business being in the league. Mario Lemieux has yet to defend him, of course, because defending players like that would make him want to reconsider being a part of this game.
no-one's going to let this go. Next time cooke injures a player, remember that. This game relies on respect between players, and cooke's one of the few players who has shown that he has none.

Melnyk embarressed himself and his organization by his comments. Mario need not comment on an issue so heinous that the league has taken no action.

Cooke is a player deliberatly going outside the rules to seriously injure players fans pay big money to watch.
Maybe it's because I'm a doctor, but I find nothing funny or fine about Karlssons injury. Achilles heels can be debilitating. I don't think people should let it go, the NHL should protect its product and had many chances throughout Cookes career to do so. Unfortunate things happen, this time the offender has a history, that's the problem.

Maybe it's because I work in a coal mine that I also do not find Karlsson's injury amusing or fine. What I do find amusing is the assumption that this injury cannot be accidental because Cooke was involved. I've looked at these threads since the incident and alot of people feel this is accidental. Cooke is who he is and if Karlsson had taken an elbow to the head I would agree that Cooke did it on purpose.
i mean, if you're the league's biggest hypocrite, why not be consistent?
Good argument. Irrelevant and patently false but okay. Since you must be foggy on the details, the difference between the two situations is that the league was extremely involved in the Pens/Islanders fiasco. Also you seem to work on the assumption that I feel Mario's letter was an appropriate course of action to take. Regardless, the situations are completely irrelevant.

but why was cooke's foot be in the air?
why would he bring it down so hard?
why would he even be trying to slewfoot karlsson?
as EK said, cooke knew what he was doing. Slicing the achilles wasnt intentional, because you'd have to be a surgeon to have that accuracy. Doing something dirty? That's cooke's MO. Mario knows it, he signs cooke's cheques every two weeks, and ignores the problem, only to cry foul when something happens to his team.

You said Karlsson's injury will heal. I'm saying it might not. Karlssons skating is a big part of his game, so this is an injury that could impact his skill. As a fan of hockey's stars, I'm not happy about this.
And I'm not saying it's not accidental. I'm saying it's frustrating that a player who, based on his previous history, should not even be playing NHL hockey, is that one that ended up being involved. Maybe it was accidental, but at the very least, it was a reckless play, and that adds to the frustration.
