Both players score 82 points in 82 games.

Player A does it by scoring 1 point in each of the 82 games.

Player B does it by scoring 2 points in the odd numbered games (1, 3, 5, 7, ..., 77, 79, 81).
Nah, I fully understood it the first time but look at the post you replied to right over mine.

Got me confused cause 2 points in 41 straight is the same and I got confused what he meant.

Yeah that's exactly what I was doing. I was making a joke about the locked thread. Was drunk so I confused Rinaldo with Cooke.

1 every game. It means in every game you give the team a bump not only in terms of taking the lead/tie/closing a gap on the scoreboard if trailing, but also (in every game) you're showing that the opposing goalie is human and boosting morale/creating momentum in your favor for the team to feed on. I'd take a guaranteed, steady diet of showing both teams that the opponent is vulnerable over having that guarantee only half the time.

you do not need more than 45 regular time, overtime wins in the season and in the playoff you just need to win 50% of the game +1.

If in the playoff he start is 2 points at game 1, give me that guy.

Disappear for one whole game before reappearing again? Did you even real the OP at all?

Personally I would take the player that scores 2 points 41 times every other game. But I'd bench him during his other game and play someone else...then he'd finish the season with 82pts in 41 games

1 point is no difference maker, You need 2. You can't win all games, so rather step up in half of them, than be mediocre in all of them.

41x2.

Using the 1 to 1.5 ratio, the 82-point scorer will have a line that looks like this: 33g-49a-82pt

Let's assume that, after his own 82 points, his team scores the 1 goal per game for 82 games.

That would make his team score 3 goals in half of the games, and 1 in half of them. Longshot playoff contender, depending on the defense and goaltending.

If you take the 82x1 player and add 82x1 team to him, that's exactly two goals for every game. That's a recipe for last place unless the defense and goaltending have the league solved.
