Why will Rondo still be here after the trade deadline, and beyond? Why?
Because EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

So silly. You post something and some homer gets bent out of shape and starts calling you names? And this is really all because I laughed at Smart getting stretchered off for a sprained ankle. I love green teamers. Easily the most thinned skinned group of fans for all the Boston sports teams.

Exactly. They can't even comprehend that there is a CHANCE that he could be dealt at the deadline.

Then they'll crucify Ainge for not getting anything in return if he keeps him and loses him for nothing over the summer.

I'm in favor of trading Rondo if someone can come up with a trade that works for both teams.

And no, not Irving.

Just seems like the teams that could use him (Houston, Dallas, Charlotte, NY) don't have much to give up.

I just don`t see why Rondo would stay, why waste the last good years of your career for a team that is rebuilding? Its Smart's time now.

$$$$

(that's why he would stay - I'm not saying we'd necessarily pay him the max)

If Ainge does that and he's unable to pair him with another all-star player, he deserves to get absolutely crucified.

makes sense, he already has the hardware so I don`t envision him being that motivated to get a 2nd ring with another team.

If Wyc approves, I wouldn't have much of an issue to be honest. It's not like we'd use his cap space somewhere else to become a contender.

Best case is obviously getting something good back. But I don't see how letting him walk would help us. Who's coming here that's better than Rondo with our limited space? Greg Monroe? Not that he's better than Rondo.

Who do you think gets back to being relevant first? The celts or philly?

I think we do. I don't think Noel and Embiid is a good starting point and this draft is also heavy on big men. If Philly got Wiggins or Parker, I'd have said them.

No. Sorry just no.

Celtics have sully who is averaging 16/9/3 at good percentages in his 3rd season, klynyk who is a really talented offensive big, smart who will be a decent defensive guard and green, bradley and rondo all signed to good value deals, plus 1sts and expirings coming out of their ears.

Philly are losing games in an embarassing fashion. Noel is still a very raw prospect, and embiid is the same. The rest of the team is stocked up with D-League players who are as amazed as any that they're getting a game at NBA level. Even if you add wiggins or parker to that team instead of embiid, they're still nowhere.

Thats not me drinking the kool-aid. If this celts team had a finisher and a defensive center that can rebound, they would have won some of the close games they've choked on this year and be far higher up the standings.
