@Real_ESPNLeBrun. Just ironing out a few wrinkles and it will be announced within a day or 2. Sources suggest closer to $8.3 per.

But I doubt MacT flies out specifically to court some 2nd tier guy like Boyd Gordon or Tom Gilbert or something.

I would assume that Tencer probably does indeed know that MacT is "out of the office", but whether he knows who he's targeting is another question.
That's a good point, I wonder if Clarkson is in E-town today. The Oil are rumoured to be in him and he's been making the rounds.

How's the weather there today?

First off, Canada will likely have at least 6/7 centres on their roster. Also, Giroux > Bergy

Possible, but you have Toews and Bergeron there for sure. You need them for their two way game especially on the big Russian ice.

There is no question Crosby could have made more than 8.7 if he wanted to.
I don't think being the highest paid player in the NHL is big on his list. He wants to win.

Disagree there. Bergeron is one of the best two-way centres in the game of hockey. It's amazing how underappreciated he is.

Especially now. If you take his contract and compare it to some of the numbers that we're seeing now, he's probably close to 12 million a season.

yeah i gotta agree ... he can shut the top players down, and produce .. i think he is a lock for the team. Giroux will make it to but i think he ends up playing wing.

Clarkson is also rumored to want 6M/season. If that's the case I think MacT stays away from him.
