No offense to the rational Wild fans.

To be fair though I won't downplay the significance of losing Parise, but he's right. Parise is not a sniper, and he isn't one to blast goals top shelf from the circle. He's done it a few times a year, but he's more of a garbageman. Not that that's a bad quality. A goal is a goal.

I don't disagree. Everyone is just laughing at bitter devils fans.

What JA is trying to say is it will take the Devils 7 games instead of 6 to beat the Rangers next season.

I am glad most Rangers fans have shown some humility after the conference finals.

Wild fans puffing up their chests are just as funny. What have you proven so far? Your owner has money.

Anything else? Nope!

I didn't mean to make an example of you I just notice a lot of Wild fans(Not saying you) thinking the Wild are an elite team, but the Devils are now garbage because of Parise. Parise does make the Wild better no doubt. Losing him makes the Devils worse no doubt. If we can get another top 6 forward we'll be fine. SCF team no not now, but a playoff team yes. Perhaps one of our classic first round bounces, but a playoff team.

You know it's bad when Devils fans are giving us, RANGER FANS, credit.

People are overreacting here. The Devils will be fine. Losing Parise hurts, yes, and they will probably not be as good next season as the last, but it's far from the end of the world for them.

It's true.

Apart from the usual lot who would still question the Devils if they won ten cups in a row. Rangers fans have taken their medicine and kept quiet. Admirable.

Most of the Rangers fans have been pretty realistic, and confident in the Devils in this thread. I'll say that much.

It's pretty telling, though.
Despite the heated rivalry, Ranger fans know the Devils better than any other team would. We may hate each others teams, but we know the opposition up and down the lineup.

It's kinda like this for me. When I heard Gaborik was gonna be out until December I figured the Rangers would take a hit, but I didn't expect them to be hanging around in 10th-12th place until he got back(The Devils actually hung around in 10th-12th until mid December this last season is the funny thing) Of course that was before they picked up Nash, but I still would expect them to be competitive and finding ways to win games.

Parise is a fantastic player, but as a NYR fan I have seen a lot of this team. Lamoriello has always found ways to make the team competitive, no matter how good or bad the roster looks on paper.

we've been through enough of these threads to know that no amount of reasoning is going to work on either side. both sides have a some rational people trying to make rational comments, and then some other very vocal people that are acting like jackasses. nobody is going to change their minds. just let it die and we'll let the future tell who is right and wrong.

Yet again, you NJ fans are making baseless assumptions with no evidence whatsoever. Please, by all means, find me ONE SINGLE QUOTE on HF where a Wild fan said we are now an elite team. Just about every Wild fan on here (including myself) believes that we are a low seed playoff team now, nowhere near elite. Give it a couple years though, with the development of a few of our prospects, and we might be a very competitive team.

I think if we eliminated every post that contained some variation on "you devil/wild fans" ... we'd have a somewhat reasonable discussion on hand.

Yup, Parise has a garbage shot and won't age gracefully. But something tells me that had your team signed him, you'd be stoked about the cap hit, term and future.

something tells me that you could go back through various parise threads throughout the season and playoffs and find plenty of us said we wanted no part in parise for a long term contract with a caphit higher than kovy's. maybe that something is the fact that i was one of them.
