When Trouba was officially measured at the draft combine, he was 6'2". When Hamilton was officially measured at his draft combine, he was 6'4.5". So to the best of our knowledge, there's a 2.5" gap between them. That's pretty significant, but it's definitely not 4".

Ok can someone please tell me why the height topic is so important again considering they are both tall guys? Seems like we are beating this to death?

Not a big fan of Hamilton he gets way too much hype. Trouba was better a year younger in this tournament

3" means a lot to some people

This would be the least biased way to compare heights since hockey measurements are very well known for being inaccurate

I wonder how this would have played out if the poll was started today? Based on what I saw, Trouba far outperformed Hamilton during the World Juniors.

This poll would have been lopsided for Hamilton Pre-WJC

For those who already knew something about Trouba before the WJHC tournament the general concerns about weaknesses related to his hockey sense, positional play and defensive technique. Some might say that the WJHC is a small sample size, but he sure looked consistently steady in terms of his decision-making, poise and defensive approach. I would think that those deficits might be hard to hide on this sort of stage for that many games. That's why I have raised my estimation of his potential. His strengths were still on display (excellent mobility, size, physical play, shot), but concerns about some of his potential weaknesses were dispelled to a large extent (at least for me).
