The only two that make sense to me at the moment are Mike and Maddie. I think it would make sense as this whole journey has been Mike's. Have Mike make the ultimate sacrifice for his friends and family. Charlie is Maddie's second chance, Sam & Jessie get their spin off, Fi goes back to the new guy. Or they kill off Maddie, Michael sees this as his real second chance at something real and he & Fi raise Charlie.

Or the Sam & Jessie spin off is just smoke and mirrors so that they could remove Jessie and Sam as an option in the fans minds when they are really the two most likely without the spin off.
That would remind me of The X-Files series finale where Mulder and Scully were together but on the run.

Hopefully it ends somewhat on a high. This season has been quite depressing. I know one of the main characters is going to die, but I hope they tie it up nicely.

Appears the finale is only a regular 1 hour episode? I thought I heard that it was going to be 2 hours.

Honestly I'm pretty disappointed that it's only a 1 hour finale.

I don't really know what to expect tonight and I'm not even sure if I know what I want to happen. The only thing I have a feeling about is that I'm going to be disappointed.

Probably watching the finale after football.

Really liked that ending. Doesn't that set up the spin off with Sam and Jesse?

It does set up the spinoff, which I like. But I didn't like the ending.

Spoil:
Having them survive the explosion was disappointing, and having that corny line at the end (What should I tell him?) was godawful

Corny, but I liked how they incorporated the opening sequence with Michael, Fiona, and Sam.

Wrapped it up. Sets up the spin off. Mike and Fi get their happily ever after. If Sharon Gless doesn't finally get that supporting actress Emmy it's BS. She was great the whole season.

Meh, kind of mirrored the entire plot. Get to the next level of Michael Westonism, beat the top boss and move on.

I liked it a lot. The lines from the opening credits were well incorporated and added a funny touch.

A bit sad it's over. I feel like this show is so underrated!

The sap in me loved it. A truly bittersweet ending but true to the characters. Well done!

Sappy ending, but overall okay. Took too many leaps in faith at the end, even for this show, but still a decent ending.

Now bring on Porter & Axe, P.I.'s!

I was not as disappointed as I expected, but it just seemed like it was forced into a hour time slot.

Sad to see Maddie go like that. My wife was in tears.

A spinoff could be good, but I hope that it's just the 2 of them helping people with their problems rather than one with deeper overtones.

the one change i would have done, is have a short time jump and still have charlie sleeping, but have Fi pregnant--That would have been a nice wrap up

at least they did not fake us out with the pre announced death

"Yeah I've got the bald one and the one with the chin."

Yeah, they're definitely getting a spin-off.

Overall a great season, slightly above average finale. C+

Not particularly a fan of domestic Mike and I thought the writers missed an opportunity here. When in the 2nd to last episode Mike was talking about how much good he can do in charge of James network, they sort of completely ignored the giant bulk of Burn Notice. Mike was already doing that good on his own with his friends in Miami.

Here is how I would have done the final scene. Michael and Fi are together wherever they ran off to (I presume it was Ireland?). Well Fi is probably known there so through that someone approaches them with yet another job of the week type scenario. Mike is resistant remembering his Mothers sacrifice. But then ( In keeping with the credits theme) he remembers his mom saying "someone needs your help Michael". Then cut back to Mike. "I'll see what I can do". Roll credits.

Yeah it was kinda jammed in there.

The big question I still have lingering though is , WTF does James network actually do? Why did the CIA want to take it down so badly? At the end it was said that there were a lot of operatives that could have done a lot of damage. It's just so vague. The whole season was spent infiltrating and trying to take it down yet we really never learned what the hell they were trying to stop.

I agree. I would've liked a 2 hour finale more, but I liked the ending. I'm gonna miss the show for sure. Sad to see Maddie die though!

This is my big complaint with the final season, especially since it was such a big plot point. They never really explained what the hell James and his organization were all about, yet still expected the audience to understand why Sam/Fiona/Jesse were so desperate to stop Michael from taking it over.

And if Michael was doing so much good in spite of being coerced into working for the evil and amoral, why would everything suddenly think he'll turn to the dark side once he's no longer under the thumb of the evil and amoral?

I disagree. I think it was clear who James was and what his organization was all about: A disenchanted soldier who uses his vast network of assets to distribute his brand of cruel justice to the wicked. Kind of like the Code of Hammurabi + V for Vendetta. In the end, Michael couldn't reconcile the effect James' indcotrination had on him even though he agreed with much of the methodology.
