Indeed. They should make formidable runners-up to Bartschi.

Put the kid next to Peter Mueller on third line, then the calder should be possibility.

Has he added much mass since the draft? Unless he isn't strong enough to hang in there with pro's there's no way that he wouldn't be ready.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play too. Florida would be very dangerous with a premier offensive threat. I've heard that he compares very favorably to Claude Giroux.

he wont get any better playing in the CHL again, he has dominated that league for 2 years, he will play full time for Florida this season

To name a few more... Tarasenko, Granlund, Silfverberg, & Smith. Fun year ahead, that's for sure.

Ignoring the Calder part of your comment, but the org has already said something to the effect that they expect Huberdeau and Mueller to look good together on a line. I would anticipate the 2 of them on the second line actually, with Huberdeau at center and Mueller at right wing.

Probably would have made the team last year if he would have weighed more than a chunky middle school girl.

Should be on the main squad from now on.

I can't see Huberdeau not being on the roster come opening night. Huberdeau will probably be tried as the second line center, but I see him quickly finding his place as the second line left wing probably with Mueller on the ride side between one of Matthias or Goc pending any moves before now and opening night.

Huberdeau should defiantly be in the running for the Calder Trophy, anything less and I'd be disappointed.

But on topic, I think Huberdeau will surprise and make the Panthers roster. Kid has all the tools to be a star.
Ha, even if we did trade Bjugstad to you guys, he wouldn't play for you this year.

Huberdeau will make the big squad this year.
Only reason why he didn't last year was because Tallon didn't want to risk playing him at his weight he was at.
Gudbranson stuck around because at least he was physically ready for the NHL.
I think he'll start at wing, a place he excelled at in junior.

Huberdeau is exactly the kind of player that the NHL wants to move to the Pros, while being blocked by the deal between the CHL and the NHL.

He has nothing left to prove at the CHL level, but he may lack the physical development to be effective at the NHL level. (total conjecture on my part of course) This could cause stalled development or an injury.

Under the current rules, the AHL is out of the question, but the reality is that he is likely best served by being there if he isn't quite ready yet.

I do not think he should if he was ready for the NHL then he should of been better against the russians. He still needs one more year in the CHL.

Maybe he should have been better against the Russians, but I don't believe Huberdeau needs to spend another year in the CHL. At the very least Huberdeau will get his 9 games, and if in those games he looks completely out of place or if the team goes off to a terrible 0-9 start will he play one more year in the CHL.

Huberdeau will play for the big club on opening night, and will challenge for the Calder Trophy.

I agree and he could very well be in the mix for ROY as he has a better chance for quality top 6 and PP minutes than some other guys.

If it was poker id be all in, looks like his strength is up I dont think I saw him lose a battle in the Canada Russia series. To me he was the best player out there, if I were to pick a front runner for the calder he'd be my number 1. Especially coming to a team that does not have a tone of offensive talent, he could be the best offensive player on that roster by seasons end. I think he is fairly underrated around here probably because he is drafted by florida and plays in the Q. Look how well the other top 4 of his draft played this past season in the NHL, many people had him at number 1 no reason he cant have the same impact.
