A PPG pace in the OHL isn't really much to brag about for a first rounder pick. It's tough to judge a season as disjointed as his, but his production while he was playing didn't indicate he'd taken a step forward.
Pretty sure Noesen's numbers in the first part of the season weren't anything special either.
Diffrence between Zibanejad and Silfverberg is that Silfverberg plays with one of the best teams in SEL with a killer PP. Zibanejad plays on a team who looks lost every game theyve played this season. I would say Zibanejad looks just fine. He makes tons of good shifts every game when the rest of the team looks tired and unmotivated.
He's the first to record back-to-back 100 point seasons for Brandon since superstar Peter Schaefer.
Schaefer was a pretty good Player for a few seasons. He played with fisher and havlat. If stone was a playmaking winger, with his size, he could be a very useful player, even if he tops out at around the best of Schaefer. I hope he is better than Schaefer, and has a longer career at close to his best, but a 2nd/3rd line big playmaking winger 40-50 points would be good.
Good to see Prince is doing so well. Really think he is going to be something good in the NHL.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
Puempel's numbers are good but not spectacular. Pageau's numbers are good but not spectacular.
Basically 1st in scoring would be good in the Q. Top 5 in OHL/WHL. Anything else is playing to expectations.
Pageau's ppg is 1.41. I think your standard is too high, he would easily be in top 5 scoring if not for injuries and he's doing better than some of his higher profile drafted peers like Zack Phillips. Pageau made his mark in the playoffs last year so it will be interesting to see how he does in a loaded team this year.
If Murray is able to sign one or two NCAA free agent defencemen that would go a long way to adding to our defence prospect pool. Blood & Wideman are seniors who I expect will be going to Bingo next season along with any NCAA free agents the Murrys might sign. I wonder if Lyamin will decide to stay in the KHL or maybe come to NA to play next season. He is a 6'3" defenceman who has been playing in the KHL for a few yrs now, is very good defensively with a good first pass. He shoots left & maybe he could replace Kuba next season, who knows.
Then there is the possibility of drafting one or two defencemen in the early rounds & signing a UFA defenceman this summer. All of this could stock the organization on defence to add to the forward & goalie depth that we already have. Next few weeks should be very interesting for Ottawa & who they are able to sign.

I wouldn't get too excited about Lyamin. From what I saw at the development camp this year he looked pretty out of place. His compete level was non-existent.
Not really sure about the context, but his numbers in the KHL have also dropped from 12pts to 5pts.
