I just started playing WoW for the first time. Would've been nice to have a bit of a tutorial unless it's not in the trial version
the thing about mmos. you learn on the fly. try and find a nice guild who will take the time to help you out. can be tough a lot of wanabe elitests out there
Jeez..haven't played WoW in forever. I had what was probably the most badass Orc Shaman in the game, not just on my server. That was the benefit of being on a top 3 Horde guild in the world at the time and doing nothing but playing WoW all night
Sold the account for over a grand about 4-5 years ago, last time I checked the account got banned when the guy who bought it tried to sell it.
Glad I stopped playing since it just took up too much of my life, but still have some great memories.
Anyone happen to play on Skullcrusher back in the day?

That was such a nice benefit back in the day, selling off characters. I remember when I originally stopped playing I got like $600 for my tier 2 warrior. Now with good gear so easy to get, why would people buy accounts?

Yea, back in the day if you weren't in an incredible guild then it was impossible to get good items. The raid instances were so difficult at the time, took so much coordination and dedication to learn how to kill the bosses..constant hours and nights spent just wiping over and over.
I got hacked again. I shouldve seen it coming today as I changed my password 3 times today alone. I thought maybe I just spaced out or something when I went to entire my new passwords in later in the day only to find they wouldnt work so I'd reset my password to something new. By the time I did it the third time i noticed in my email inbox that my email address linked to the account was being changed. The stupid thing is they have a "if this is not your doing click this link" kinda thing in there only to give you a generic support page instead of something specific to the account in question.
It's past their customer support hours and I can't log in or do anything about it. I have noticed from clicking on my character's names from forum posts on the wow forums that already 2 of them have had all their gear deleted. It's kind of sickening sitting here as I can't do crap about it and my stuff is being destroyed. Last time it happened it was a gigantic pain in the butt to restore everything.
My suspicions due to some reading are that they in the past linked an email account of theirs to my account so whenever I made password changes or anything they'd get the notice. I sweep my computers constantly and they always come up clean. I keep some various webpages open but I always run *******. This is creepy as hell because even in the emails that come after you change an email it doesnt say what the password is and these guys were hacking it immediately.

Drop the 7 or 8 bucks and get an authenticator. You'll never get hacked again.

Basically the exact same thing happened with me.
Didn't stop until I changed the e-mail linked to my account.

man, I really want to avoid that. I tried having a 2nd email account for other stuff but I just never check that thing and often I forget the login and password for it.

Yeah, I was the same way, but by the sounds of it, like me, it's your e-mail that's been compromised, not your computer.
Death knight talents are a massive disappointment..
Also, I just pre-ordered MoP collector's edition and got a beta code. Seeing as I already have the annual pass which includes the beta, I don't really need it.
If you want the code, PM me and I'll give it to you.
Well, I started at 10am calling every 5-7 mins since then and still not once able to get through to a customer service representative. The last time I got hacked I had this same issue. The most frustrating thing is that you arent even given an option to go into a queue on hold, they just say their hold queues are full and to try calling later. I just find it hard to believe that it's been that every single time I have called today which has been a good 15 times and counting. I never have seen a company with such a horrible phone system, almost as if it's purposely made this way to deter people from calling in. In my case I NEED to call in to be able to verify I am the owner and to have the email changed back and to have them search for any other emails attached to the account. bleh.

I havent tried my DK as blood yet but on frost it has completely changed him. For one, the dual wield version was essentially ruined. It was all changed to a mastery based build that relies on frost strikes while almost ignoring obliterates and spamming the crap out of howling blast. My gear was all haste gear reforges with stre/haste gems on it and haste enchants. I didnt want to change out all my stuff so I equipped a 2hander which is supposed to work with the haste stuff as opposed to mastery. Well, it's just such an awkward and slow way with lots of dead time where you have no procs, no runic power to spend and no runes to spend. I do more damage than I used to do but its just not fun at all. On my old dual wield frost I was playing wack-a-mole with the procs that were comign left and right and I basically couldnt spend them faster than I obtained them. It was a fun and active rotation, this.... not so much.
As for other chars since the change. I have been afraid to even try my holy paladin in raid finder due to the horror stories. Prior to the patch I had mana issues with my paladin to begin with since their spells are astronomically expensive. They took away judgements of the bold and nerfed a bit of the aoe heal (holy radiance I believe) taking away the tick component of it. I did do a raid finder run on my priest trying to heal some fights as atonement and some fights just straight up disc healing. Atonement seems like it's ok for a 5 man dungeon but in the raid format it just doesnt crank out enough heals per second to work. It also was causing my mana to deplete faster than if I was just straight healing. I did madness doing straight healing but I basically went from 100% to 30% mana by the time we were done with the first platform and I knew I was in for a long fight against my mana bar. Having rapture not be a net mana gain anymore takes a huge part of your mana recovery rotation off the table. I didnt proactively bubble tanks like I would earlier and only used the bubble if i absolutely needed to. I got through ti but you could tell it wasnt just me but other healers were really struggling hard too. Paladins which used to dominate the healing in raid finder were way at the bottom, likely due to mana issues.
wow, so I changed my email address associated with my account but I was still hacked today that was even after I found and deleted a trojan from each of my computers that was found with malwarebytes but missed by kaspersky. I thought I did things as clean as possible this time. I only used one computer and didnt do a thing account wise till I completely cleaned off the computer with a scan from both. Today I go to log in and my password doesnt work, I check my new email address and I cant even log into that, luckily it sent a message to my old email address that allowed me to unlock it. I go into the settings of both and find a weird phone number linked to my first email address in it's verification settings and a weird additional email in the other email that I used to link to the game.
This has been a horrendous experience, the persistence of these hackers is nuts. I don't know why on earth they find it to be effective to keep targeting a clearly active account. Within a day anything they steal gets returned to me and likely deleted from them goldwise. It's almost like they're doing this just to screw with me and seemingly more aggresive each time they do so. Right now they're just screwing with my world of warcraft and locking me out of my email account but I worry about purchases I have made on my computer, my personal information and even some investments made via scottrade. It's apparent that it's this particular game they're targeting but the question needs to be asked, would my computer even be infected if I didnt have this game? Would I even have to worry about this if I didnt have this game? It's getting to the point where I am wondering if this is worth this kind of personal violation.
The new patch ruined my experience. I am taking a few days off because I don't want to adapt. I mean, they totally changed the way my demonology warlock does things. They took out nearly all of his spells. That's ridiculous
He now has to use corruption and shadow bolt That's it...it's a lvl 68 character...
The authenticator on their site is sold out so im SOL. I got hacked again, so thats 3 times in the last three days. I have grown too tired of getting the account restored only to be half way through re equiping my restored gear before getting knocked off again as my password was changed on me.
I have changed my email, I have changed my passwords, I have changed my security questions. I have swept both my computers for malware and used a reputable anti-virus. I have tried doing a malware sweep while i am in the blizzard login info screen (a tip that was given to me by blizzards rep) and all of these things are coming out clean. But the most disturbing thing about this is that not only are they absolutely destroying any kind of game experience I could have they have broken into my personal life. They're hijacking my now 2nd email address. The password to get into that has been changed now 3 times which is corresponding with their password changes for wow account. There has never been a game before which has attracted this level of a violation. I was told to get an authenticator to solve all these problems but it's been sold out all weekend and still today. Even when I get that I have to wait for it to arrive and from the sounds of it the corners have been cut on the "free" shipping to make it take over 2 weeks. So, I am unable to play a game for the next 3+ weeks or so all due to a god damn belligerent hacker.
Not to mention this is another argument against Diablo 3's moronic policy of needing to always be logged into an account to play. That is a game I paid for and I cant even play as well as my subscription based game due to this since my account that is locked is that account as well. So, while I might just have the worst luck in the world with this one hacker it's food for thought when it comes time for future blizzard purchases and how they tie everything into the one account and such.
****, that sucks, Gooch. After I swept my computer and changed my e-mail over the phone, luckily I was safe.
As for the new changes, they're pretty meh to me. Nothing really game changing. They just simplified every class to the extreme, imo.
I don't know why Blizzard decided to move the game in a direction to attract new players and make it for casuals and beginners and almost completely ignore the hardcore/longtime players when they already had however many million subscribers.

One of the reasons im not too butthurt right now is that I was really reaching for things to do in the game lately anyways. I hate most of the changes except aoe looting and the account mounts. The talents just seem so lackluster. Their excuse is that apparently we all had cookie cutter builds (which I didnt) so they're going to take our choice away from us and instead give us a system where a bunch of non compelling seemingly pvp only talents are the only things offered to our homogenized builds.
I did a couple raid finder runs before being locked out. I tried my feral druid who was automatically put as a guardian bear which I had to respec out of to go with the cat form. I did around similar dps as prior but it just didnt feel right or fun at all. Most of my chars havent even bothered to reglyph at all since they are all seemingly worthless now and just for gimmicky crap instead. The "normalized" mana pools really irk me. Why is it so awful of a concept for people to be able to make their own builds even if they're crappy builds? When I first came back on my scroll I was shocked to see the prior talent system where it forced you into one tree for 31 points. To me I thought it was incredibly homogenized and took away customization for seemingly no good reason, this new system is just even moreso in that direction.
