Bryan Murray vs. Mike Keenan

Bryan Murray
620-465-131
52-60 Playoffs

3 Division Titles
1 Stanley Cup Appearance

1 Jack Adams

Mike Keenan
672-531-147
96-77 Playoffs

6 Division Titles
4 Stanley Cup Appearances
1 Stanley Cup Championship

1 Jack Adams

Now my question is, who is more likely to get into the Hall of Fame?

You can say neither but my question remains.

There is no coaching wing in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Keenan should make it based on basically bringing the NHL into the modern era with his short shift game.

If the Florida Panthers had built off of 1996, I could see Murray getting in as a builder, but they fell apart shortly thereafter.

Keenan and Murray both had GM posts.

Judging historically, all a great coach needs is to hold down a GM spot for a bit and he can get in as a builder.

Murray shouldn't have a chance. Nice longevity, but until the Sens made the final in 2007 he had never coached out of the 2nd round and those were with some choke job teams in Washington. He just always seemed nervous behind the bench. He looked nervous like a deer in the headlights.

Keenan is one of the most polarizing characters in NHL history, but he is very much a results-orientated coach who did a lot of winning and took a lot of teams deep in the NHL. Plus the two Canada Cups. They asked Keenan, and not Murray, for a reason. Keenan deserves to get in before Pat Burns (God rest his soul) as much as people hate hearing that
