A&M beat Alabama. A team that was a non-factor in the Big 12 last year beat the #1 ranked team and defending national champion. I'm not saying it proves this or that, but it's a pretty strong argument that the Big 12 was indeed the best conference last year, and their champion should have played in the NCG.
A&M is a different team under a new coach. How they're doing this year doesn't say anything about the SEC or the Big12 last year. Michigan in 2010 was terrible, Hoke came in and they go to a BCS bowl in 2011. Ohio State was 6-7 last year, they hire Meyer and they could go 12-0. Sumlin is having that type of impact at A&M. Acting like A&M is the same team as last year is terrible logic.
Your point is? USC and WVU both have top 3 picks in QBs this year. What're their records again?
The point is Johnny Football wasn't replacing some scrub at QB. Lets not pretend A&M didn't have an elite QB last year.
Nobody is suggesting the team isn't different from last year, but as was mentioned above many expected them to get killed this year simply because the SEC was supposedly far superior to the Big 12 and the two newcomers would be total patsies.
and again missouri beat aggies least year, right? and missouri is getting slaughtered. johnny football is that team. he adds confidence on all sides of the ball. you can tell its a completely different team just by watching their energy on the field and from a coaching stand point too

Both teams were middle of the road last year, what does Missouri beating them matter? Clearly A&M has improved while Missouri regressed. It doesn't completely cancel out the point that A&M's success in the SEC reflects well on the quality of the Big 12 last year. If you think it's irrelevent, then we'll agree to disagree.
In hindsight, it's too bad that Ohio State is on probation and ineligible. OSU-ND for the championship would have everyone in the southeast frothing-at-the-mouth mad.
Prolly the same reaction the rest of the country will have when the title game is Alabama and Florida

last year the big 12 was neck and neck with the SEC. but this year they have regressed quite a bit. but that happens in college football as we all know. ill agree the SEC gets overrated from time to time. but it also has its fair share of critics.
ill disagree about a&m being close to the same team they were last year. johnny football and sumlin have rejuvenated that program. but i was also never one that thought either would get slaughtered. I figured both would be somewhere in the middle of where a&m and missouri are right now.
