Why was he never called back up to Vancouver?
Canucks had no need for a player like that I guess? That's probably why he decided to leave after a full year in the AHL. Unlike the Canucks, Dallas wanted an energy player/pest so he was a perfect fit.

Kind of funny, this is eerily similar to Alex Burrows.

Finally got a shot with a team, stuck as a bottom 6 aggitator.

- French background
- Signed a 4 year deal at 2 million per

Rousell broke in a little bit earlier than Burrows did, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Rousell become an Alex-Burrows light.

Great value for the stars. Surprised he armed for 4 years at that price.

AFAIK all of them lose their waiver-exempt status next season. Klingberg is viewed very highly by management and Oleksiak is a guy they really like and don't want to lose. Jokipakka could probably sneak through waivers next year but I doubt the other two would. We will probably see all three at some point during the season. It's a crowded blueline back there and they're going to give prospects a chance to step up and take larger roles. Moves will probably have to be made within the next year or so.
That's quite the quandary for management, I agree. Wonder how Nill and Co. sort that out.

Well considering his craptastic season, last year Alex Burrows was "Alex-Burrows light".

Roussel definitely looked like the better player IMO.
