Pittsburgh loses: Blame Bylsma
Pittsburgh wins: They won in spite of Bylsma

This is how Penguins fans think. They're all smarter than Dan Bylsma and they all know exactly what should happen in every situation because coaching in the NHL is such an easy job. If you put your average slack-jawed mouth-breathing Yinzer as Head Coach, the Pens would have won every Stanley Cup since 2009.

Carlyle - most shots against in the league - probably in the history of the league.

You've visited the pens boards lately! Total simplistic groupthink, it's the Pittsburgh sports fans way....

Every coach other than Julien of the teams that have eliminated Pitt in the playoffs since 09 are no longer employed by that team. Yet Bylsma endures.

Reality is probably somewhere in the middle, he's not as bad as how the complaints about him would lead you to believe, but not as good as the homer's proclaim either.

Coaches are hired to be fired.

Bylsma is not a bad coach, but like many coaches that were grinders, he likes grinders and his system is suited to grinders

It's the homers that hate him. Pittsburgh sports fans act like bewildered children who can't understand why the Stillers and Pens aren't winning. I'm from here, got friends and family just like that, just saying'.

shockingly it is a lost cause for a homer Wings fan... fact of the matter is the great swedish leader left the ice for the hand shake line after a loss while the young kid hasn't... says a lot about their respective characters...

at least I'm sure about the playoffs...

Habs have the same problem with Therrien and Torto does the same with Vancouver. Some coach just prefer that simple-minded style cause it's easier for them. I mean for example last year the Habs had a puck-possession game and were guns blazing dominant. This year, it's grinding and dump and chase and the games are horrible to watch and they manage to win games by the pants of their seats. The team wins despite of Therrien. It's all on the first line saving his butt, basically.

Sounds like most fan bases.

If he doesn't take a time out at the exact time the fans want, or plays the 'wrong' goalie, or doesn't play their favorite player/line every second shift, people go nuts.
