I mean he'll add about the same amount of goal scoring Callahan offers. I should have reworded.
When has callahan scored 30, let alone put up 38 and 45? (orginially mistakenly took assists for goals). He'd also be playing with Richards.. which may not click, but Parise is the definition of a goal scorer.
Howson had a cocky smirk when he did a NHLN interview when mentioned Rick Nash. He said something along the lines of "We don't have to trade him today. We don't have to trade him tomorrow."

That was before his knee surgery. He's more of a grinding forward now than he was a few years ago.

So does this mean the whole fiasco will be over sunday? He doesn't have to trade him for the next 6 years.

I think, that he thinks that he has all these teams in a vice grip.
until Zach signs with one, Ryan is traded to one, guys step up as goal scorers, than Howson will be left with how many on his "list"?
There will always be interest in Nash. Nash wants out of CLB. There will never be a shortage of teams to add on to the list.

But there is a shortage of teams on his list and if they bow out because they got another guy or players step up and produce more, Nash will become less wanted and less valuable. Now is the time to move him. You can get something really good from a team, but he is settling for nothing right now.
nash's NMC is a non-issue cause it expires long before you'd ever even dream up considering sending him down. if it went to the end of the deal that might be a different story. but if you are worried about not being able to send him down in the next 2 years probably shouldn't be trading for him.
The Flyers remain in the mix for Anaheim’s Bobby Ryan, but this same source said that the price is very steep – Brayden Schenn or Sean Couturier, plus James van Riemsdyk. The Flyers, for the moment, aren’t willing to part with either Schenn or Couturier.
I understand why you're questioning him. I just prefer the patient approach with 22 year olds. I think kids with sturdier builds can be more effective in the playoffs at a very young age. I often think of the kid line formed by the Oilers with Gelinas, Graves and Buchberger the year they won without Gretzky. They were effective (similar to the Devils and Kings' 4th lines this year) because they had the bodies that could be battering rams. Kids like Stepan, Seguin, Eberle - they need time to fill out and understand where they need to go and when to be successful in playoff games. Those types of kids with their style of game just take a little more time. I think body type plays a crucial role.
Patience is important and players with slight builds and finese games do take a little more time but you really can't lump Stepan in with players like Eberle ans Seguin who are both infinitely more talented than Stepan is. Seguin has already had a lot of sucess in the playoffs last year with a cup winning team.
You would barely do a Lucic for Nash trade? I would do that straight up 100 times out of 100. In fact, I'd throw a parade after the trade was completed in my honor.
Howson wants another team to build his team. He has been Columbus GM since 2007. The team hasn't improved since he left Edmonton to join Columbus. Edmonton is another disaster.

maybe we should just trade the New York Rangers for Rick Nash!
