Brent Seabrook.

Less specifically, the defense sum total.

Now that Campbell has retired, it's basically Keith, the fat guy that ate Brent Seabrook 2 years ago, and 4 kids.

For the Flames, goaltending has obviously been mentioned but I think what is equally concerning is the question "How good is Gaudreau?"

Is he the franchise level superstar we thought he was developing into after '15/'16 or is he more a 60-70 point, "very good" player now that the league has a bit of a book on him?

Sure, goaltending is obviously a big concern and has the most impact on the future of the Flames but between Parsons and Gillies there is at least some hope on the horizon that you can plug that hole internally in a year or two. If Gaudreau is just a "very good" player then I think that's a huge problem as teams without a "Game Breaking" forward usually don't contend for the cup and having our best player being the 60-point range is just not going to cut it imo. That hole is just as hard to fill as a stable #1 goalie.

We shall see though!

Yeah that sounds about right. We don't have many holes or questions marks but also not a ton of star power or game breakers so until we get someone along those lines or someone steps up to the next level we're still a team who can comfortably make the playoffs but probably not do much damage once we're there.

What ISN'T an area of concern about the Avalanche!?

I guess right now it's whether or not the current management team will be able to build a winner. I'm convinced they aren't.

Worried that Holland isn't fully committed to a rebuild

Defense after losing Methot; followed closely by the PP; followed closely by the top 6 forwards

The coach AINEC

The talent is there, but his bizarre lineup decisions may undermine it.

Hoping Mason stabilizes the position and Hellebuyck rebounds.

Discipline/Penalty Killing

Jets were 27th in # of times short-handed
Jets were 26th in SH %

When you rank so poorly in both metrics, you're giving up way too many goals.

I suppose I could chip in "health" (third in man games lost last year) but that's a risk for every team each year.
