well hot damn lets just go with an all rookie D next year
Haha, our prospect d-men are pretty damn tempting. Harrington might be the best pure defensive prospect in hockey right now, IMHO.
But back to Morrow, I don't know if you saw this play in the prospect thread, but it illustrates pretty well what he can do on the PP (his goal starts at the 1:00 mark):

He won't make the team next year, but the year after? I wouldn't be surprised.
The Pens develop blueliners the way other teams develop wingers. There's so much potential for a constant injection of young talent to our blueline, it's kind of insane.
24 goals and 54 points. Holy crap! Can he get 60 this year? Seriously, I wanted him traded last year. I figured Talbot was better for us, because he has a great locker-room presence and is a solid depth guy. Which he is, but this season Dupuis is having is something special and is why we're so dominate this year. So many of our forwards are firing on all cylinders. Oh how I love being so wrong on this.
Question, is this a comma (of more things to come) or an explanation mark on his career? Can he repeat or is this a one-year thing? We all have witnessed late bloomers before in the shape and form of your Robert Langs, Mike Knubles, and Jason Blakes. Finally looking like a top-sixer.

It really is! Our blueline situation, all things considered, is probably better than any other team in the league.
We have a Norris-calibre #1, a well-rounded veteran top 4 (despite their struggles this year), a great bottom-pair, NHL-ready prospects in Bort and Strait, plus Despres, Morrow, and Harrington could be ready to take on greater roles when Orpik, Martin, and Michalek's contracts are up.
Our scouting staff has turned us into Nashville North on defense...which is incredible considering the gamebreakers we have on offense.

if things time out perfectly and we're ever lucky enough to have all three of Despres, Morrow and Harrington in the top 6 all with entry level cap hits we are going to be a very scary team.

One of Bortuzzo or Strait will almost certainly be gone next year just because of our depth and their waiver-eligibility.
Also, I think Harrington's as good a bet to be a top 4 guy as any of our defense prospects - and certainly a better bet than Strait. He's impressed me that much.

ya I just put the guys down I didn't really consider which pairing they should be on
fair point about not having room for both Bortuzzo and Strait though.
