To me, it seems like Lou is preparing to groom Marty to one day follow in his foot steps.
And I think Marty can achieve a lot of the success that Lou did and become a very accomplished GM.

Chara is a seriously motivated dude. He studies languages and takes finance courses in his spare time, and works out every single day. He has the discipline to be good at anything.
On guy who doesn't get mentioned often is Sundin, apparently he's uber-rich after his investments in Sweden hit major paydirt.
He recently opened a fairly successful restaurant/brew pub in Ottawa and I'm assuming it'll end up expanding eventually.
