He doesn't have the work ethic to get to that level IMO. He's got the off ice issues, and then we hear of poor conditioning (which goes hand in hand). He doesn't have the raw talent to just screw around like a Theo Fleury or Ed Belfour.
Since when did Frattin become a defensive specialist? People seem to think he's this incredible two way player. Not the case. He's maybe a little better than Kadri defensively but not by much, Kadri dives for pucks and breaks up high risk plays better.
Aside from putting up more points than Frattin in both the ahl and nhl Kadri also draws about 5X more penalties, takes faceoffs better and runs guys over just about as consistently (he's an opportunist but he'll level a guy). Not saying Kadri is a better hitter but giving out big hits that put the fans on their feet is part of his game.

If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing. As quoted in Listening and Speaking : A Guide to Effective Oral Communication (1954) by Ralph G. Nichols and Thomas R. Lewis, p. 74
Of course a team such as ours should rather play the young ones in hope of them improving both personally and as a result of that our team rather then hang on to players who have already leveled out in their development and that level is not better then bottom 5 in the league.
are we worried that if we play them we will be worse off? seriously? let both of these guys play and get rid of those has beens. Our problem has always been not playing young players, let them play and let them play through their mistakes, heck we can get a good pick out of it also.
Frattin drives hard to the net with or without the puck. Frattin stops and starts and doesn't take the 4 second sweep around turn back up the ice. Do you think Carlysle will care about that?
Frattin can play on any line and in any situation so in that sense he's more likely to be a regular NHLer but Kadri definitely has more upside and should be the better player of the 2.
At any rate I am not saying Kadri won't play in the league. With the current roster unless something happens to Connolly and/or Lombardi (which it will ) Kadri will have to wait. I would rather they lost one of the above and played Kadri actually. Preferably Connolly. He looked like his time had passed last year.

Frattin can't play on any line effectively (in the NHL) any more than Kadri can. Frattin is best kept on the bottom 6, while Kadri is top 6 material.
Kadri AINEC. Frattin is not an effective NHL player as of right now and does not have a very high ceiling. Frattin is just plain an unremarkable prospect as far as I'm concerned. Kadri on the other hand just oozes skill and hasn't really been given a proper shot in the big show. He's had some bad luck (was hot in training camp but suffered an injury and then Frattin unjustly held a roster spot over Kadri once Kadri got healthy again based on Wilson's delusions).
why is there not more discussion on this? can you describe it if you saw it or is there any video anywere?
I think the video (as bad as it is) can be found on the Leafs' site.
Carlyle wasn't impressed, he talks about the game, said he scored 3 goals in one period (mentions PP), but then downplayed the rest of his game for periods 2 and 3.
