I'm a big 74 fan and he has been awful the last few games. Seems like his compete level isn't there. Don't see the same hustle from him you saw earlier in the season.

Look at Carlson's mentors

Green, Wideman, Corvo

I hope everyone can now understand why Oates had been giving him PP time over Green. He has to learn. Green is often injured and its a bit too late to wait to groom him when Green is out of the lineup.

I think Corvo was a mentor to Varlamov more than to any of the defensemen.

How did the Ovechkin shot at the end of the first not go in? I'm watching the highlights and can't figure it out. Did they show replays of it during the game?

Yeah they did before going to a commercial break. Look like the puck was rolling on end and it ended up being a slice forehand drop shot, heh.
