I'm not positive but I think thats how it works. If they scratch Kindl for him he'll count toward one of those 4 recalls and will be their last one I believe they can use with Pulkkinen, Tootoo and Ferraro getting them
No. As I stated in the post above yours, that was under the old CBA.

Here's an article that confirms for you guys, if you don't believe me.

And now? NHL clubs still have to decide which eligible players they want to participate in the chase for the Calder Cup, but they won’t have to worry about the paper transactions — sending players down to the A and then recalling them in time to play that night — that used to take up valuable time on the busiest day of the year.

More importantly, the four recalls limitation is gone, which benefits both the parent and farm club.

In the past, if an NHL team needed a player, it would call him up and keep him even if he wasn’t playing so that if it needed him again sometime in the future it wouldn’t have to use two (or more) of its four recalls for the same player. Now a player can be called up and returned as many times as needed. That’s a huge benefit to AHL teams, which may still lose key players at critical junctures, but no longer have to watch those players sitting in an NHL press box when they could be helping out down on the farm.

Pulkkinen is still with the team. With Smith's return to defense, he'll presumably be playing tonight.

He needs to be in the lineup tonight.

I don't care if we have to dress 7 defenseman and use him as a PP specialist. Sad to say we need a career minor leaguer to save our PP.

Let's see what he's got.

How is he a career minor leaguer? He's in his early twenties!

15.5% (45 per 293) of NHL defenceman are 5'11 or shorter. So on average every team has one.

We don't have any on our current team, so one Almquist will fit easily in.

The term 'career minor leaguer' is one that is used to describe players like Evans or Hoggan. Guys who play an entire career in the minors. It implies that they were never good enough to reach the NHL. It's not used to describe young prospects who are still working their way up. Nyquist wouldn't have been called a 'career minor leaguer' before this season, even though he'd only really played in the minor leagues. Almquist is working his way up, there's probably a few teams in the league he'd already be competing for a spot on.

Evans and Hoggan as well as Paetsch and Mcintyre had a minute or two in the nhl, then for whatever the reason wound up as long time AHL and Europe guys.
AA deserves a shot. he is raw but energetic, has great vision and has some offensive ability to aid a horribly boring bunch of seventh d-men disguised as real nhl'ers. give him and even Sproul and Oullet a shot, the forwards came in and worked their tails off and earned their jobs, why not give a real shot at one of the kids on the blue line?
And nothing for nothing but is there a better coach in the AHL right now than Blashill? With his lineup seriously depleted he has the second best record in the AHL. Gotta think he will be coaching somewhere in the NHL next year.
