It's been so long now, I don't remember if Zidlicky stepped it up in the playoffs for the Preds or not. He's been pretty good this playoff with the Devils, I think he's even playing their top pair now.
You can tell the Preds are growing as a franchise when it seems every season now an ex-Pred is doing something in the playoffs! Can't wait till everyone currently ON the roster puts it together and delivers in Nashville.

Oh god there are gonna be so many butthurt Devils fans over the refs. They have a somewhat legitimate case, but I dont think I can take this for a whole off-season.
I understand the point they are trying to make when they say had the Stoll penalty been called the other penalty might not happen, but acting like it's a certainty is narrow-minded. Maybe Bernier doesn't make that hit, and maybe he does. Regardless, he shouldn't have done what he did.
Now up 4-0 early in the second, they've got this in the bag barring a miracle.

I don't think they do. It was a by-the-book major. Besides, the Kings were the better team before the major anyway, and probably would have gone on to win without it.

NBC does NOT broadcast the game on primary channel nationally as they seem to imply, only in hockey markets. I was in Orange Beach, AL last week-- cable had no games nor any sign of them. Suspect if I had my Directv or digital cable an alternate channel might be there, but not where we were staying.

Love Orange beach i am jealous. Keep Suter/Weber. Get a legit center, move legs and Fish down and maybe a nice LW piece.. ........Yeah i could see it.
Stirring the pot a little more... both teams in the finals are there with new coaches. Any time someone mentions Trotz being fired, it's met with a barrage of suggestions that the Preds would fall off to perennial cellar dwellers without Trotz. Or the always popular "name a coach that would do better"...
nobody would have had DeBoer on that list last summer, his name has never been brought up in Preds discussion. I'm sure at some point, someone would have suggested Sutter, and quickly been laughed out of the room... it's Poile's job to make a list of possible replacements, not mine. But That's not to say I can't point out that there have certainly been times over the years when a coaching change would have been appropriate.
Just saying, it's not hitting the self-destruct button to make a coaching change, especially if you have a very talented roster... sometimes it's the wake up call/change of pace that the team needs to get that roster over the hump.
You know, I remember a Kings user named something along the lines of "aegwillnotwinthecup" or something to that effect. I wonder how that guy feels now.

I agree 100% with this statement. Brandon Yip on the power play certainly ain't gonna win you the Cup sure as ****. Anyways, won the office pool by a vast margin thanks to my picking of the Kings, so glad I picked the right team. After they beat vancouver I knew they were going to be my number 2 going forward.
Having said that, there are two things I think everyone can agree on:
1. Booing Bettman is stupid. He has grown the game by leaps and bounds.
2. Poile, Trotz, and company could learn a thing or two about what the Kings just did. We blew our chance to reach the WCF. While I think we would've gotten our butts kicked, we missed a legit chance at winning the West or even the Cup. LA made awesome trades, drafted well, and were not afraid to add questionable guys due to strong leadership behind the bench.
Now we can focus on the draft and such things. Its going to be a turbulent couple of months.
I didn't hear a lot of booing other than when Bettman mentioned New Jersey. Certainly nothing like some of the most recent years, i'm hoping that it'll die off soon as more and more people realize how stupid it is.
of course there was a post as recently as two days ago in the main section of HF that said Bettman will never allow a team to relocate to Canada...
