IMO I would rather keep Bruno out of the line up and give another a rookie a chance. Bruno has come short almost every game when he gets the most beautiful chances. He's like the kid who is on a travel team because his dad is the coach. I got nothing against Bruno but its time for him to hang up the skates.
Brunette could amp it up for a playoff run. You never know. Even though his tank is on "e", hopefully he has enough left to give us a good run. He signed here to win the Cup. He felt like Chicago could give him a chance to finally win one. He hasn't been in the playoffs for a few years and knows the number of chances to get a ring isn't a big number. Bruno will be motivated and healthy come the playoffs. Hopefully, both of those things translate to him being a key contributor and help give us a hell of a playoff run.

This is how I see it too. I just have a feeling he's going to score at least 1 important goal this off season. We have enough kids in the line up as it is.

I'm not sayin he will perform well, but he is getting one more shot at the Cup and is getting rest. Let's hope it translates into him stepping it up at the most opportune time.
but paying 3.5+ million for those guys may not be worth it. that's what many have a problem with
Bolland would be fully worth 4-4.5 per year if they slotted him on the 2nd line where he belongs. He's a solid playmaker/sniper and an elite shutdown center. I don't know where people get this misconception that shutdown players have to be bottom sixers. Look at Thornton, Kesler, Bergeron, etc. He's got some consistency issues, but he'd be a 60 point player if he had capable wingers for an entire season. Pair him with one of Kane and Hossa and one of Stalberg and Saad next year and watch him flourish. It speaks volumes that he's almost 20/20 this year with the revolving door of underperforming linemates that he's had no chemistry with.
Give him the minutes and he'll produce. He's put this team on his back in the past and I see no reason why he can't be a go-to scorer. A guy that has the ability to put up 60+ points on top of being your main shutdown guy deserves any contract within reason that he wants.

Thats pretty much how I feel. I don't understand why so many people dislike a guy who contributes in so many ways. Even his contract isn t out of line when you consider his overall value to the team IMO.
Bolland has two more years after this under contract at 3.375, that's not a bad cap hit for what he brings to the table, especially if he lights it up in the playoffs again this season. It's impossible to tell our situation three offseasons from now so I won't even predict if we sign him again or not.
I love Bolly though and while he can be frustrating at times, he is critical to this team.
Guys who are your main shut down forward and also score around 20 goals don't grow on trees.
This. Many people around here don't understand the shutdown role on hockey teams and somehow expect Bolland to produce like Hossa and Toews do...even while he's usually saddled with whoever happens to be in Q's doghouse on his line and in a defense first role.
Bolland's contract is a nice bargain. Oh and he's awesome in the playoffs AND the only player that stays in Chicago over the summer. He isn't going anywhere.
