Currently the last forward on my depth chart. First guy to go to Milwaukee if Fish signs.

Does the contract come with a locker?

Awesome, hopefully his coming out party was just a sign of things to come.

Freddie Hockey! Being two way for the next two years makes me think Poile knows Fisher is coming back.

Really, really doubt this is the case. A 4th liner's signing in The Nhl doesn't tell me that our 2nd/3rd liner center is coming Back. He wouldn't have proteced Jarnkrok if he would be sure of Fisher not retiring.

I think that's just a deal to get Gaudreau some games under his belt and after 2 years hopefully he will be ready to play regularly in the NHL.

I think it's just Poile making most of the situation, where Gaudreau is waiver exempt for two more years and the team has lots of centers.

Kinda like "Hey, we wanna keep you, but with all the centers I don't know if you're gonna see much ice-time when everyone's healthy, so if we pay you a guaranteed 700k in your contract's 3rd year, do you agree to being tossed between NHL - whenever there's injuries - and AHL - to get games under your belt on a big role - for the next two seasons on a 2-way deal while you're waiver exempt."

Could involve verbal agreement of certain stints in Preds press box for the money.

Well it's essentially 840k of guaranteed money that will only go up if he is up with us, and he has the certaintity of a job for 3 years.

My guess is he wanted term, Poile may have told him he didn't know what Fisher would do so to get term Poile asked for flexibility.

If Fisher does retire, he continues to play well, he will spend lots of time here.

Nitpicking, but according to CapFriendly:
Quote:
CONTRACT NOTE: 2017-18: $100,000 Guaranteed at the Minor league level. 2018-19: $120,000 Guaranteed at the Minor league level.
https://www.capfriendly.com/players/frederick-gaudreau

So a guaranteed 920,000$

Can someone explain this? Bonuses or what?

Not at all. Chris Bourque made nearly $400,000 last season.

I think the cap on minor league salaries was in the previous CBA and had to do with re-entry waivers which no longer exist

Great deal for Freddy. Hope he makes the team next year, would love a 4th line of Gaudreau - Sissons - Watson.

Does this contract officially make him a two-way player? I hear that those are valuable in today's game.

P.S. I'm joking.
