Obviously, there was no way he was winning after the provincial government passed a law to protect the deal and declare it legal. The law is what the government decides it is. Those guys were fools to try to challenge it.
Sorry, but that is complete nonsense. There are whole myriad of reasons why laws passed by legislatures can and have been overturned by court challenges; Canadian history is full of such incidents.

If the Yotes are moving this offseason, I'm inclined to agree with this. I just don't see the team moving after the draft for some reason.
It could really go either way at this point, tbqh. Either delayed into staying for at least another year (as I don't see the courts resolving this in favor of Glendale before the draft) or either the NHL or Jamison just give up and the league is forced to sell to the highest bidder.
