As long as they remain linemates, they're likely to be very close in points.
As for who is "better," Backes is a more valuable player right now. He fills a huge role for the Blues at center, stays healthier, hits more, and is a better goalscorer. Oshie's energy is infectious, has better hands and is a better playmaker. Not that far apart, but the locker room impact that Backes brings and his ability to perform at center, at least, put him in the lead. Backes can carry a line, Oshie doesn't seem to have that ability right now.
Cause I had to chose 10 player's from the following list:
Couture
Backstrom
Frolik
Perry
Boyes
Seguin
Brown
Bolland
M. Johansson
James Neal
Oshie
Backes
Evander Kane
Malkin
Jamie Benn
From that list I had 8 sure keeper. Then I needed to chose 2 between Oshie,Backes and Brown. I then decided to keep Brown and wasn't sure about the other foward to keep.

Seems like a fairly simple choice to me.
Malkin
Benn
Neal
Perry
Backstrom
Seguin
Brown
Backes
Oshie
Kane
Frolik, Boyes and Bolland shouldn't even be in the discussion.
Johanssen and Couturier are good prospects, but right now they are 3rd liners on their respective teams and as such are a clear notch below the others.
1. Malkin
2. Backstrom
3. Perry
4. Neal
5. Benn
6. Seguin
7. Kane
8. Backes
9. Brown
10. Oshie
So to answer the question Backes over Oshie. Backes is the better player now, and probably always will be, but I feel Oshie may be able to potentially put up slightly better points in the future. But if you can keep 10 guys from the list provided both make the cut. But seeing how you have a very solid group of keepers you could choose Couturier over Oshie, who while probably won't be as good fantasy wise than Oshie next season, he should be in the very near future, and his overall trade value is probably greater, but I'd be looking to win with the team you have, thus Oshie as your final keeper.

Thx for answering my post but again I meant Logan Couture.
Too close to call -Oshie with higher assists to goals ratio. Backes still slightly more important to The Blues. But THAT won't be reflected in point totals, and so, shouldn't affect fantasy player choices.
I don't think Oshie is ever going to be better than Backes.
I think Oshie has the skills and motor that would suggest he could be better. However, he seems to be nowhere close to Backes' maturity, leadership, and intellect. Plus, Backes will always have the edge in body composition in relation to physicality and injury susceptibility.
Overall, Oshie can be the better offensive player and can come very close defensively, but I think his mental aptitude limit his chances to eclipse Backes. That is not to say that Oshie lacks fortitude or is dumb by any stretch. Rather, he is just not as cerebral as Backes. I hold Backes in high esteem for his level of intellect. He is a very intelligent and passionate guy...I love that in a player.

I don't disagree with anything said here. Don't think Oshie will hit his potential to be the better offensive player and I think it's pretty much accepted that Backes is the better defender.
