Checking line

I think one of the problems whenever ppl make hypothetical lineups for Sochi is that we always select our group like its the allstar team.

I'm not advocating taking total scrubs over talented players. We can still run 3 scoring lines, it would just be nice to have one solid checking line that u can rely upon.

I'm not as familiar with the KHL as I'd like to be, are there any good players that fit the mold of a defensive forward?

Artem Anisimov doesn't hit much but he's good defensively for the Rangers, often gets PK minutes.

Jevgenij Artiuchin or Evgeny Artyukhin is surely suitable for a checking line? i would be crapping my pants if he was on the forecheck. Might be a discipline problem on the other hand...

Well, Datsyuk is your perfect checking line center too. That aside we have decent defensive forwards in Anisimov and Burmistrov. I bet ZHB is inviting Burdasov for this purpose, maybe seeing a future 4th liner for the NT in him.
