I'm sure McKenzie would be the first to tell you that the difference between 3rd and 6th on his list a year before the draft starts is almost meaningless. This draft looks stacked, especially near the top, it's not like there's a "big 3" or anything at this point. I'll bet opinions vary widely from scout to scout when comparing centres like Monahan, Barkov, Lindholm, etc.

Having read all the comments and such, yeah, I know it's still way too early to make any 100% predictions of the draft, but McKenzie placing Lindholm above Barkov is just laughable. Sure, Lindholm has nice over ppg numbers in juniors, but Barkov has similar numbers in a mens league...must be the "Swedish" factor.

Apparently they have trouble recognizing humor, as well.

I havent seen Monahan, MacKinnon etc. playing, however I´ve been watching Sasha Barkov for few years now and I have to say if anyone gets picked in the draft before him, he must be one hell of a player.

After seeing Barkov's game against Kärpät... I just don't see a junior player beating out a guy who can put up such a dominant game at that level. Just freaking unbelievable what this guy can do.

Weird things can happen in life. First time in my hockey fan years I hope Detroit Red Wings to suck totally at this season, only because we could have a chance to draft Barkov to Red Wings.

That would be a "transfer" from my 30-year-Finnsh-favourite team to my 20-year-NHL-favourite. That is my ultimate dream at the moment. I hate that day when he leaves Tappara for bigger leagues, but if that would mean going to Detroit, you woudn't find a happier guy from this planet than me. Or maybe Sasha himself.

He is just a match made in heaven for Red Wings prospect center core. We will need a big-size 1st line playmaking talent to join smaller but great talent Calle Järnkrok to create a new 1-2 center punch like Yzerman&Fedorov were and Datsyuk&Zetterberg are right now. We have everything else to build a strong contender again peaking after 7-8 years, and Barkov is also suberb match in our way to play hockey (puck-posession).

If there's one wish to make for hockey gods, it's this.

Please, make Sasha a Red Wing.

There's a vital element missing from the equation. That which makes it humorous.
