It looks like we are going to play Ottawa 1st round, love the matchup for Boston, none of my Sens fans friends here in Ottawa want this matchup, although they are glad to be back in the playoffs. If we are strong on the PK, we should win this in about 5 games.
Slow down just a tad, eh?
That, and Anderson's playing really well at the right time.

Ugh, please let's not sound like Canucks fans. Respect the opponent.
We need an extended image to get Boychuk in there as well. Top 5 + a player tied for 6th.
I was looking through the +/- stats on nhl.com and the closest a team came to dominating the top of the leader board like this was Washington in 09/10 where they had the top 4 and then someone tied for 5th. The stats only went back to 1997/98 though.

I live here in Ottawa and half to put up with a cocky fan base on a daily basis, I stand by what I said, we are the far superior team and this is a great matchup for us.
The one thing I like about playing Ottawa is Thomas loves playing in their barn and plays well there.
I don't think there will be an easy round in the playoffs-teams that start thinking they have a cakewalk generally end up falling on their behinds, but knowing your #1 goalie has a good record in a certain arena and generally plays well there is a plus.
From what I heard Rolly was coming off a head injury and the B's knew he wasn't in game shape. They gave him short shifts at first.
Brian looked a little worried his first couple of games but he looks confident now. I think he will be a very nice asset for the playoffs.
He's looking pretty good to me ! Strong skater and shot and smart player...wins faceoffs...good on special teams ! Smart move by Peter C.
And a nice, workmanlike performance from Mottau this afternoon, considering he's been sitting in the press box for a bit.
Just what you'd hope for from an old vet. A good depth acquisition. Nice to see some guys that were written off still able to contribute.

Uh huh. :lmao:
Cocky fan base....I'm sure that phrase has never been uttered by other fans regarding Bruins fans.
The Red Sox were a playoff lock too, dontcha know? Just gotta get past a crappy Baltimore team.....
Solid win and I was glad to see Julien keep Seguin with Bergeron and Marchand. I'll always be nervous for whichever opponent we'll face in the play-offs, but Ottawa is favorable.
I just want us to continue playing solid hockey and get healthy as much as possible.

Far Superior eh???? I`ll take that bet
We shall see, me thinks the inexperience in your lineup will be your downfall, there will be a ton of guys wearing a Sens uniform who`ll never have seen what they are about to in a week and a half before, things that your able to get away with in the regular season, ya just don`t come playoff time.
As a born and bred Ottawa boy myself, and former season tix holder there, I`m happy that the team has rebounded as quickly as they have, and I think they will be a fantastic team for years to come, this year though, it`s the "growing pain" year when it comes to playoff success(much like the Bruins of 07/08), but I love your optimism and support of your team.

HAHA, my apologies to SPL, ya woulda thought I`d see the "BRUIN" but noooooooooooo, your right, this was my first post of the day, coming in around 7:30 with no coffee, again, my apologies SPL
I'm really nervous about wanting a particular team for the first round/any round. I know that kind of thinking has no bearing on the series itself but obviously if you love hockey, you probably have intense superstitions
It's either going to be Buffalo, Washington or Ottawa, right? Just for pure conversation sake, I wouldn't want Buffalo.
Washington was in a battle for their playoff lives when we played them and yet they were playing the game like it was a pre-season exhibition. I know we lost that game mostly due to our own will to win, but I was not even close to impressed with them. I expected a desperate Caps team and what I saw was a team expecting to lose. /shrug
So with that said, based on a single game, a playoff series with them could be good because we know the Bruins will show up in the playoffs.. from what Washington showed me, they may actually have to have someone remind them when the first playoff game is.
Ottawa, while the best match-up for us on paper scares me because it will be thier first Playoff appearance in a long time with a rejuvinated team with a new coach and excited fans. They could definitely be a surprise winner in the first round despite their overall lack of playoff experience.
And Buffalo... they just usually find a way to win. They have a few 'Bruins' killers on their team and while Miller has been less than good lately, he could turn it on in the playoffs too.
So I honestly don't know and again, am hesitant to say "oh I'd definitely want to play _____!"
I think every team we played last year in the post season wanted to play us (I remember the thread just before we played Philly and all their fans wouldnt and couldn't shut up about how they were going to steam-roll us)
Same with Vancouver. Both fanbases had their "injury" excuses ready by the end of both series and I don't want our fanbase to turn into that.
