Fleury is a waste unless Pittsburgh makes it enticing from my perspective. If there was no one else, sure, but Rust is available.

Very poor forward alternatives, and those that are available come with big contracts and are almost universally older guys.

Rust is probably one of the better young, cheaper, wingers available, and I still see a lot of people picking Fleury. Unless there is a side deal to send him somewhere (which is unlikely), there are too many better options for net like Mrazak.

All I know is they're definitely taking Mrazek

Stempniak is a vet and is the best they can get out of Carolina.
Yakupov is likely to sign a cheap contract and also has potential left in him; so far more proven than Dano at this point and has played more NHL games.

If you think Yakupov still has potential in him then Dano certainly does too.

Am I the only one that thinks Vegas will draft themselves near the cap and go for some veteran wingers?:

L C R
James Neal Vadim Shipachyov Bobby Ryan
Mike Cammalleri Jonathan Marchessault Marian Gaborik
Benoit Pouliot Marcus Kruger David Perron
Jamie McGinn Darren Helm Dale Weise

Marko Dano, Emerson Etem, Brendan Gaunce, Brendan Leipsic, Jacob De La Rose, Reid Duke, Tomas Hyka

D D
Jack Johnson Matt Dumba
Thomas Hickey Adam McQuaid
Brenden Dillon Trevor van Riemsdyk

Patrick Wiercioch, Greg Pateryn, Slater Koekkoek, Tyler Wotherspoon

G
Marc-Andre Fleury/Cam Ward
Antti Raanta/Philipp Grubauer
Linus Ullmark

Obviously assuming a few moves happen:

1) Kruger+van Riemsdyk trade with the Hawks is completed and the Knights take some nobody like Labrie off their list.

2) Ducks and Isles give up assets to keep Manson/Vatanen/Strome from being taken.

3) Wild don't trade anything to keep Dumba.

Figure as well that all 5 of those goalies are taken, but they only keep one of the two I put a slash between. Prospects, picks, and perhaps a 1st line centre or 3rd line winger are probably the return they'd look for with this roster. Once that's done, they should wind up around $64-$68M on the cap.

ETA: Expansion Draft guesses:

Anaheim - Emerson Etem
Arizona - Jamie McGinn
Boston - Adam McQuiad
Buffalo - Linus Ullmark
Calgary - Tyler Wotherspoon
Carolina - Cam Ward
Chicago - ? (Kruger, van Reimsdyk)
Colorado - Patrick Wiercioch
Columbus - Jack Johnson
Dallas - Curtis McKenzie
Detroit - Darren Helm
Edmonton - Benoit Pouliot
Florida - Jonathan Marchessault
Los Angeles - Marian Gaborik
Minnesota - Matt Dumba
Montreal - Jacob De La Rose
Nashville - James Neal
New Jersey - Mike Cammalleri
Islanders - Thomas Hickey
Rangers - Antti Raanta
Ottawa - Bobby Ryan
Philadelphia - Dale Weise
Pittsburgh - Marc-Andre Fleury
St Louis - David Perron
San Jose - Brenden Dillon
Tampa Bay - Slater Koekkoek
Toronto - Brendan Leipsic
Vancouver - Brendan Gaunce
Washington - Philipp Grubauer
Winnipeg - Marko Dano

It certainly is not a playoff team. If you don't believe me, go compare it to every other Western Conference team. Not only that, but a lot of the best players in this lineup won't be there because of side deals.
